Bu araştırma; sağlık sektöründe görev yapan hemşirelerin ve hekimlerin kendilerini geliştirmek ve meslekleriyle ilgili gelişmeleri takip edebilmek adına bir girişimlerinin olup olmadığını tespit etmek ve kişisel gelişim çabası olan bireylerin ne tür çalışmalar yaptıklarını belirlemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Aynı zamanda bu çalışma, çalışanların iş tatminleriyle kişisel gelişim çabaları arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesini de içermektedir. Amaç doğrultusunda hazırlanan anket formu 2015 yılında Konya ili Beyşehir ilçesi Devlet Hastanesi’nde görev yapan ve anket uygulamasını kabul eden 38 hekim, 72 hemşire olmak üzere toplam 110 kişiye uygulanmıştır.Araştırma sonucunda; kişisel gelişim çabası ile iş tatmini arasındaki ilişkinin demografik özelliklere göre farklılaştığı tespit edilmiştir. Katılımcıların kişisel gelişim çabası düzeylerini belirlemek üzere yapılan analizlerde genel itibariyle sosyal gelişim düzeylerinde istatistiksel olarak anlamlı sonuçlar bulunmuştur. Hekimlerin sosyal gelişim düzeyleri hemşirelerinkinden düşük olmasına rağmen iş tatmini düzeylerinin genel itibariyle hemşirelerin iş tatmini düzeylerinden yüksek olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Yapılan analizler sonucunda kişisel gelişim çabası ile iş tatmini arasında bir ilişkinin olduğu ve kişisel gelişim çabasının iş tatminini artırdığı görülmüştür. This study has been conducted to determine whether nurses and physicians serving in health sector have moves to improve themselves and track developments about their job as well as to find out what kind of efforts they make for self-improvement. This study also aims to find out the relation between job satisfaction and self-improvement efforts of physicians and nurses. The questionnaire prepared for these purposes has been applied to a total of 110 people consisting of 38 physicians and 72 nurses who work in Beyşehir Public Hospital.According to the results some significant differences were found on the relationship between self-improvement effort and job satisfaction. Within the analyses aiming to determine the levels of self-development efforts of the participants, statistically significant results were found on social development levels. Even though the social development levels of the physicians were lower compared to the nurses; it has been found that their job satisfaction degree was higher. As a result a relation between self-development efforts and job satisfaction were found and that self-development efforts increase job satisfaction.
