Bu araştırmanın genel amacı, Türkiye'de eğitim ortamlarında kullanılan tablet bilgisayarlarda mobil artırılmış gerçeklik uygulamalarının kullanımı ve etkilerinin ortaya konulmasıdır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda ortaöğretim dokuzuncu sınıf Biyoloji dersi kapsamında tablet bilgisayarlar üzerinden gerçekleştirilen mobil artırılmış gerçeklik etkinliklerinin öğrencilerin akademik başarı ve derse yönelik motivasyonlarına etkisi incelenmiştir. Ayrıca ders öğretmeninin ve deney grubunda yer alan öğrencilerin mobil artırılmış gerçeklik uygulaması hakkındaki görüşleri incelenmiş ve deneysel uygulama süresince sınıf içi gözlemler yapılmıştır. Araştırmada hem nicel hem de nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden yararlanılmıştır. Deneysel uygulamanın öğrenme ürünleri üzerindeki etkilerini saptamak için nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden "ön-test/son-test kontrol gruplu deneysel desen" kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu, Isparta il merkezinde eğitim veren özel bir Anadolu lisesinin dokuzuncu sınıfında öğrenim gören 40 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma 2014-2015 eğitim-öğretim yılı bahar döneminde Biyoloji dersi kapsamında gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmada bir deney ve bir kontrol grubu olmak üzere iki grup bulunmaktadır. Deney grubunda tablet bilgisayar üzerinden mobil artırılmış gerçeklik uygulaması çalışmalarının etkileri incelenmiştir. Kontrol grubunda ise sadece Biyoloji dersi öğretim programına uygun olarak ders işlenmiştir. Araştırmanın nicel verilerinin analizinde betimsel istatistikler, t testi, tek yönlü kovaryans analizi (ANCOVA) ve çok değişkenli kovaryans analizi (MANCOVA) kullanılmıştır. Nitel veriler üzerinde ise durum çalışması deseni kullanılarak betimsel analiz yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonuçlarına göre deneysel uygulama sonunda deney grubunda yer alan öğrencilerin motivasyonel inançlarına ait puanlarının sadece ders programını uygulayan kontrol grubu öğrencilerine göre daha fazla arttığı ortaya çıkmıştır. Ancak deneysel uygulama sonunda deney ve kontrol grubunun akademik başarı puanları arasında anlamlı bir farklılık olmadığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Görüşmelerden elde edilen bulgular incelendiğinde ise öğretmen ve öğrenciler genel olarak mobil artırılmış gerçeklik etkinliklerinin ders başarısını ve motivasyonu arttırmada etkili olabileceğini ifade etmişlerdir. The main purpose of this study was to find out the use and effectiveness of mobile augmented reality applications on tablet PCs in educational environment in Turkey. For this purpose, the effect of mobile augmented reality applications conducted through tablet on the academic success and motivations of the students was investigated PCs in the context of the ninth grade Biology course. In the scope of the study, the views of teacher and students about mobile augmented reality approach and its implementation process were studied, and in-class observations were also done. In this study, both qualitative and quantitative methods were used. In the research, a pre-test / post-test control group model, which is one of the quantitative methods, was used to determine effects of the experimental process on learning outcomes. The study group included 40 ninth grade students from a private high school in Isparta. The study was conducted in the scope of ninth grade Biology course during the spring semester of 2014 - 2015 academic year. The study included two groups, one of which was the experimental group and the other was the control group. In the experimental group, the instruction was enhanced with mobile augmented reality applications while in the control group the course was implemented in accordance with the curriculum of Biology. To analyze the obtained quantitative data, the descriptive statistics, t-tests, one way analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) and multivariate analysis of covariance (MANCOVA) were applied. Furthermore, to analyze the qualitative data, descriptive analysis method was implemented using case study design. According to the results of the study, it was found that the motivational belief scores of the students in the experimental group were higher than the ones in the control group who only studied the actual curriculum. However, at the end of the experimental implementation, it was explored that there was no significant difference between the academic achievements of the students who were in the experimental group and the ones in the control group. When the interview results were analyzed, it was seen that the teacher and students suggested that mobile augmented reality applications increased the academic achievement and motivation.
