Bu tez, Sadettin Bilgiç'in siyasi hayatını ele almaktadır. Bilgiç, 1960 ve 1980 yılları arasında, Türk siyasetinde aktif rol oynamış, özellikle teşkilatçı yapısı ve muhalifliği ile derin izler bırakmıştır. Mesleki hayatta doktor olan Bilgiç, Adalet Partisi'nin kuruluş çalışmaları içerisinde bulunmuş ve 15 Ekim 1961 tarihinde yapılan seçimlerde, AP Isparta Milletvekili seçilmiştir. AP Genel Başkanı Ragıp Gümüşpala'nın 5 Haziran 1964 tarihinde vefat etmesi üzerine, AP Genel Başkan Vekili seçilen Bilgiç, 30 Kasım 1964 tarihinde yapılan kongreye kadar da bu görevde kalmıştır. Genel başkanlık meselesi, AP açısından çok önemli bir dönüm noktası olmuştur. Bu durum, aynı zamanda parti içi muhalefetin gün yüzüne çıkmasına zemin hazırlamıştır. Bilgiç, hemşerisi Süleyman Demirel ile girmiş olduğu genel başkanlık mücadelesini, 30 Kasım 1964 tarihinde kaybederek, genel başkanlığı Demirel'e kaptırmıştır. Genel Başkan Yardımcılığı, Ulaştırma ve Milli Savunma Bakanlığı yapmış olan Bilgiç, 41'ler olarak adlandırılan bir grup arkadaşı ile 11 Şubat 1970 tarihinde yapılan Adalet Partisi bütçe oylamasında, bütçeye ret oyu vererek hükümetin düşmesine sebep olmuştur. Siyaset tarihinde benzeri görülmemiş bu olay, Bilgiç ve arkadaşlarının AP'den ayrılarak Demokratik Parti'yi kurmalarına sebep olmuştur. Bilgiç, Milliyetçi Cephe Hükümeti'ni desteklemek amacıyla, kurucusu olduğu Demokratik Parti'den istifa ederek, 7 Ekim 1976 tarihinde AP'ye geri dönmüş ve genel başkan yardımcılığına getirilmiştir. 12 Eylül 1980 darbesine kadar Türk siyasetinde aktif rol alan Bilgiç, 1988 yılında Doğru Yol Partisi Genel İdare Kurulu'na seçilmiştir. 19 Aralık 1992 tarihinde yapılan AP Büyük Kongresi'nde, Adalet Partisi'nin açılamaması üzerine fiili politika hayatına son vermiştir. This thesis addresses the political life of Sadettin Bilgiç. Between 1960 and 1980, Bilgiç played an active role in Turkish politics and left traces especially known by his organizational point of view and being an opponent. Bilgiç who was a medical doctor, joined the foundation of the Justice Party and was elected the deputy of the Justice Party representing Isparta on October 15th 1961. On the death of the Justice Party's chairman Ragıp Gümüşpala on June 5th in 1964, Bilgiç was elected as the vice-chairman of the Justice Party and continued his work until the Great Congress of the Justice Party held on November 30th 1964. Being the chairman of the Justice Party had become a very important turning point in the sense of the opposition within the party. Bilgiç being a candidate of the chairman of the Justice Party like the compatriot Süleyman Demirel, had lost the election and Süleyman Demirel became the chairman of the Justice Party on November 30th 1964. Being the vice chairman and Minister of Transport and National Defence, Bilgiç with a group of friends called 41's, in the party's budget meeting giving no votes caused fell of the government. This unprecedented event in the history of politics, had led the foundation of the Democratic Party by Bilgiç and his friends. Bilgiç, being one of the founders of Democratic Party, resigned to support Nationalist Front Government and returned to the Justice Party on October 7th 1976 and became the vice-chairman of the party. Bilgiç, who had an active participation in Turkish Politics until the September 12 1980 Turkish coup d'état, was elected to the General Administrative Board in the congress of True Path Party in 1988. In the Great Congress of the Justice Party held on December 19th 1992, he put an end to his political life because of the deactivation of the Justice Party.
