Eğitim geçmişten günümüze dek toplumların, kültürlerin temelini oluşturmuş, toplumlar ve kültürler eğitim ile büyük ilerlemeler kaydetmiştir. Akıl, deney ve gözlemden oluşan bilimsel bilginin teknik bilgiyle işlenerek uygulamalı eğitim modeli oluşturulması tarihin her döneminde amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda birçok sistem ortaya çıkmıştır. Ekonomik sisteme katkı sağlayan bu modeller, eğitim sektörüyle sanayi sektörünü bir araya getirmek için çaba sarf etmiştir. Günümüzde Üniversite Sanayi İşbirliği diye adlandırılan bu sistem ile üniversitelerin bilimsel bilgisi ve alanında yetkin personeli ile sanayinin tecrübesinin ve finans gücünün birleştirilerek bilginin, teknolojinin ve finansmanın bir arada tutulduğu inovatif bir işbirliği amaçlanmaktadır. Dünyada birçok modeli olan bu sistem, akademisyen-sanayici, öğrenci-sanayici, devlet-üniversite-sanayici şeklinde gündeme gelmiştir. Türkiye'de ise son yıllarda bu işbirliğinin önemine dikkat çekilmektedir. Devletin ilgili kuruluşlarını devreye sokarak Üniversite Sanayi İşbirliği'ne desteği, işbirliğine hizmet edecek olan kişi ve kurumların talebini göz önünde bulundurması, yerli teknolojiyi üretmek için kaçınılmazdır. Üniversite Sanayi İşbirliği'ne hizmet eden modellerden biri de Teknoloji Fakültelerinin İşyeri Eğitimi uygulamasıdır. Teknoloji Fakülteleri 2009 yılında kurulan, başta Spesifik Alanlardaki Mühendislik Programları, uyguladıkları İşyeri Eğitimi Modeli ve M.T.O.K. (Mesleki ve Teknik Ortaöğretim Kurumları) Kontenjanı özellikleri ile ülkemiz sanayisi, mühendislik, mesleki ve teknik eğitimine farklıklar, yenilikler ve katkılar sağlamayı hedefleyen, yeni, genç bir mühendislik fakülteleridir. Bu çalışmada, Süleyman Demirel Üniversitesi Teknoloji Fakültesi'nin 2013-2014 Güz, 2014-2015 Güz ve 2014-2015 Bahar dönemlerinde başarıyla tamamlamış olduğu ilk üç dönem İşyeri Eğitimi uygulamasına katılan öğrencilerin görüşleri doğrultusunda İşyeri Eğitiminin Üniversite-Sanayi İşbirliği'ne katkıları araştırılmıştır. Bu kapsamda 340 öğrenci İşyeri Eğitimi'ni tamamlamıştır. Araştırmada örneklem seçimine gidilmeyip evrenin tamamına ulaşılmaya çalışılmış, çalışmaya katılmayı kabul eden 289 öğrenciye ulaşılmıştır. Teknoloji Fakültesi Fakülte Sanayi Koordinatörlüğü tarafından Teknoloji Fakültesi öğretim üyelerinin görüş ve deneyimleri dikkate alınarak hazırlanan 30 soruluk görüşme formundaki 21 soru araştırma kapsamında kullanılmıştır. Bu görüşme formuna ek olarak bazı İşyeri Eğitimi öğrencileri ve İşyeri Eğitimi'ne destek veren firma yetkilileriyle mülakatlar yapılmıştır. Araştırma sonucu ulaşılan bulgular doğrultusunda Teknoloji Fakültesi İşyeri Eğitimi uygulamasının Üniversite-Sanayi İşbirliği'ne katkı sağlayabilecek bir model olduğu belirtilebilir. Past until today, education has formed the foundation of society and culture. Thus, society and culture have made great progress with education. At every period of history, it has been always aimed to construct an education model that processes scientific knowledge; based on intelligence, experiments and observations, with technical knowledge. In order to fulfill this model many systems have been proposed. These models that boosts economic system, have struggled to pair up two wings: education and industry. Currently named as industry university cooperation, this system aims to integrate the knowledge of academia with the specialized personnel of industry and the power of finance; to form up a innovative cooperation holding knowledge, finance and technology. This system is introduced with different models; which there exists many models across the world, like academia-industry, student-industry or state-academia-industry. Nowadays, the importance of this cooperation has been pointed out in Turkey in order to produce native technology; it is clear that supporting University-Industry cooperation, considering the demands of individuals and organizations serving to this cooperation by means of calling out state's related organizations is inevitable. Workplace Training programme of Faculties of Technology is one of the models serving university-industry cooperation. Faculties of Technology are established across Turkey in 2009 with mainly specific engineering programs. They are distinct by their workplace training model and saving seats for students graduated from vocational and technical high schools. With these properties these faculties are new and novel that aim to introduce novelties to country's industry, engineering, differences in vocational and technical education. In this study, the benefits of workplace training to university-industry cooperation is investigated by using student opinions which have finished their workplace training programme with success in 2013-2014 Fall, 2014-2015 Fall and 2014-2015 Spring terms in Süleyman Demirel University's Faculty of Technology. In this context 340 students have completed Workplace Training programme. Rather than sampling the universe, universe itself targeted and only 289 out of 340 students, who accepted to participate in this study, are reached. From survey 21 questions are selected out of 30; which was gathered following the advices and opinions of faculty members of Industry-Faculty Coordinatorship of Technology Faculty, are used to evaluate the survey. In addition to this survey interviews are made with some students and also with workplace training personnel in charge. Results are promising that workplace training programme of Faculties of Technology may be a good model for university-industry cooperation.
