Günümüz Türkiye Cumhuriyet'i Devletinin, şuan üzerinde bulunmuş olduğu coğrafya antik dönemde "Asia Minor (Küçük Asya)" olarak adlandırılmaktaydı ve Asia Minor kendi içerisinde birden fazla bölgeye ayrılmış bulunmaktaydı. Bu bölgelerden bir tanesi, antik dönemde Pisidia Bölgesi olarak bilinen, bugün ise Göller Bölgesi olarak nitelendirilen Isparta ve Burdur il sınırlarını içerisine alan coğrafyadır. Pisidia Bölgesi ismine ilk olarak, M.Ö.5 yy.'da yaşamış olan Ksenephon ve ünlü tarihçi Heredot'un yazmış olduğu antik kaynaklarda rastlanmaktadır. Birçok medeniyete ve uygarlığa ev sahipliği yapan bölge Paleolitik Dönemden (600.000-12000 ) itibaren başlayarak sırasıyla Neolitik Dönem, Kalkolitik Dönem, Tunç Devri, Demir Çağı gibi dönemlerde yerleşim görmüş olup, bu yerleşme ve iskân hareketi Büyük İskender, Roma ve Bizans Hâkimiyetiyle devam ederek Türkiye Cumhuriyeti Devletine kadar kesintisiz olarak sürmüştür. Bölge 19. yy.'dan bu yana birçok seyyah ve gezginin uğrak yeri olmuş ve hala da yerli ve yabancı bilim adamlarının araştırmak için rekabete girdiği, her bir karışında ayrı bir kültürün izlerini barındıran bakir bölgelerden bir tanesidir. Tez konusunu oluşturan kaya mezarlarının bulunduğu Yalvaç ilçesi, Pisidia Bölgesinin en kuzey ucunda Frigya Bölgesi sınırında yer almaktadır. Isparta iline bağlı bu ilçede temelleri Hellenistik dönemde atılmış ve daha sonra Roma İmparatorluğu döneminde geniş çaplı imar faaliyetleriyle büyütülmüş ve zamanla dönemin metropolü haline gelmiş Pisidia Antiokheia antik kenti bulunmaktadır. Kent bulunduğu konum itibariyle çok geniş bir teritoryuma sahiptir. Çalışma konusu olan kaya mezarları ise bu yayılım alanı içerisinde farklı yerlerde bulunmaktadırlar. 6 adet Eğirdir Gölünün kuzey kısmında Hoyran olarak adlandırılan bölgede, 1 adet Yalvaç ilçesine bağlı Kumdanlı Kasabası ve 1 adet de Yalvaç ilçesine bağlı Akçaşar Köyü Göynücek mevkiinde, 2 adet Sağır Köyü, 1 adet Yukarıkaşıkara köyü, 1 adet Çakırçal köyü ve 1 adet de Sücüllü kasabasında olmak üzere toplam 13 adet kaya mezarı yer almaktadır. Bu çalışmada Antiokheia antik kenti ile doğrudan ya da dolaylı olarak bağlantılı olduğu düşünülen bu mezar yapıları önce kendi içlerinde, akabinde de çevre bölgeler ( Lykia, Karia, Pamphylia v.b.) dâhilinde bütünüyle irdelenmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Çalışma sonunda elde edilecek olan bütün veriler değerlendirilecek ve böylece hem bölge içi hem de bölge dışı sosyal, siyasal ve kültürel etkileşimler tespit edilerek bilim dünyasına sunulacaktır. The geography, the Republic of Turkey is located now, was known as "Asia Minor" in ancient period and Asia Minor was divided into more than one region in itself. One of these regions is the geography which was known as Pisidia Region in ancient period and which is characterized as Lake District Region today that covering Isparta and Burdur provincial borders. The name of Pisidia region is first found in ancient sources written by Xenephon and famous historian Herodotus who lived in the 5th century B.C. The region has hosted many civilizations and cultures since Paleolithic Age (600.000-12000) in order of Neolithic Age, Chalcolithic Age, Bronze Age, and Iron Age. This settlement and housing movement has uninterruptedly continued under the domination of Alexander the Great, Romans and Byzantine until the foundation of the Republic of Turkey. The region has been a haunt for many travelers and tourists since 19th century and it is also one of the virgin areas, for which domestic and foreign scientists are still in competition to research, and it carries the traces of a separate culture on each part of it. Yalvaç county, where there are the rock tombs forming the subject of this thesis, is located on the northernmost end of Pisidia region, on the border of Phrygia Region. Pisidian Antioch ancient city, whose foundations laid in Hellenistic Period and then enlarged with a wide range of construction activities during the Roman Empire and became the metropolis of time, is located on this county of Isparta. The city has a very broad territory because of its location. The rock tombs, the subject of this study, are located in different places in this expansion area. There are located a total of 13 grave rocks including 6 in the northern of Eğirdir lake called Hoyran, 1 in Kumdanlı town of Yalvaç county, 1 in Akcaşar village in the vicinity of Göynücek, 2 in Sağır village, 1 in Yukarıkaşıkara, 1 in Çakırçal village and 1 in Sücüllü. In this study, it is aimed to examine the rock graves, which are thought to be directly or indirectly connected to Antiochia ancient city, in themselves at first, and then with the ones in the surrounding regions (Lykia, Karia, Pamphylia, etc) thoroughly. At the end of the study, all obtained data will be evaluated and by this way, social, political and cultural interaction both inside the region and outside the region will be identified and presented to the scientific community.
