Bu çalışmada, Kırklareli ili Lüleburgaz ilçesinde yer alan lise öğretmenlerinin, coğrafya derslerinde kullandıkları öğretim yöntemlerinin belirlenmesi ve kullanılan bu öğretim yöntemlerinin, öğrencilerin öğrenme düzeyleri üzerindeki etkilerinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Günümüzde ülkelerin sınırlarının belirlenmesinden, ulusal ve uluslararası stratejilerinin çizilmesine ve jeopolitik önemlerine kadar hemen hemen her alanda coğrafyanın payı ve önemi bulunmaktadır. Her anlamda önem taşıyan coğrafya ve coğrafi faktörlerin doğru bilinmesi ve bu amaçla eğitimin her alanında coğrafya dersinin öğrencilere, modern ve çağın gereklerine uygun olarak öğretilmesi gerekmektedir. Bu amaçla coğrafya eğitiminin verilmesinde gerek uygulanacak eğitim müfredatının ve gerekse eğitim yöntemlerinin modern yöntem, teknik ve araçlar ile öğretilmesi ve sevdirilmesi gerekmektedir. Coğrafya dersinin sıradan bir ders olarak algılanmaması ve geçiştirilmemesi gereken bir ders olduğu kavranılarak, doğru ve etkin yöntemlerin kullanılması açısından, lise öğretmenlerinin coğrafya öğretiminde kullandıkları yöntem ve tekniklerin belirlenerek bu doğrultuda öneriler getirilmesi önem taşımaktadır. Bu araştırmanın modeli tarama niteliğinde olup, Kırklareli ili Lüleburgaz ilçesindeki coğrafya öğretmenlerinin öğretme yaklaşımları ve bu yaklaşımların çeşitli değişkenlere göre farklılık gösterip göstermediği belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Bu araştırma çalışması, 2013-2014 eğitim-öğretim yılı güz döneminde Lüleburgaz ilçesinde yer alan lise düzeyindeki okullarda görev yapan coğrafya ve sosyal bilgiler öğretmenleri üzerinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmaya katılımda gönüllük esası dikkate alınarak, araştırmaya katılan 48 coğrafya ve sosyal bilgiler öğretmenine uygulanan anket ve görüşme formlarından değerlendirmeye alınarak analiz edilmiştir. Veri toplama aracı olarak literatürde yaygın kullanılan CORD Öğretme Yaklaşımları Envanteri ile, coğrafya öğretmenlerinin öğretim yaklaşımlarını belirlemek amacıyla görüşme formu kullanılmıştır. Araştırma verilerinin analizi sonucunda elde edilen bulgulara göre; coğrafya ve sosyal bilgiler öğretmenlerinin genel olarak 'Kavram Açıklamaya Dayalı' öğretme stillerini kullandıkları tespit edilmiştir. Bulgulara göre öğretmenler ikinci öğretme stili olarak 'Öğrenmeye Dayalı' öğretme stilini kullanmaktadırlar. Coğrafya ve sosyal bilgiler öğretmenlerinin kavram açıklamaya ve öğrenmeye dayalı öğretme yöntemleri, öğretme amaçlarına ve öğretme yöntemlerine göre analizi sonucunda elde edilen bulgulara göre; coğrafya ve sosyal bilgiler öğretmenlerinin, ezberden başlayarak analize doğru bir öğretme amacı planladıkları sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Öğretmenlerin, ikinci olarak da analizden başlayarak ezbere doğru bir öğretme amacı planladıkları, buna karşın öğrencilere konuyu daha iyi öğretebilecekleri pratik ve uygulamalara odaklanmadıkları görülmektedir. Bulgular sonucunda coğrafya ve sosyal bilgiler öğretmenlerinin, öğretme stillerinin çağdaş eğitim bilimleri yaklaşımlarına ve coğrafya öğretim programı amaçları ile uygunluk göstermediği söylenebilir. In this study, Kırklareli Lüleburgaz the high school teachers in the district, the determination of their teaching methods in geography lessons and the teaching methods used, their impact on student learning is aimed to determine levels. Nowadays, the determination of the limits of the country, national and international strategies to be drawn and geopolitical importance in almost every area of interest and importance of geography are available. In every sense of the importance of geography and geographic factors and for this purpose the correct knowledge of geography lessons to students in all areas of education, in accordance with the requirements of the modern era and must be taught. No need to be applied for this purpose, geography education training curricula and training methods as well as modern methods, techniques and tools, and should be taught and popularization. Geography course ordinary as a lesson not detected and glossed should not be a lesson that the kavranılarak, accurate and efficient method to use, in terms of high school teachers in geography teaching methods they use and the techniques identified in this direction to make suggestions importance. This research is in the nature of the screening model, Kırklareli Lüleburgaz approaches to teaching of geography teachers in the district and according to several variables of these approaches have been tried to determine if there is difference. This research study, the fall semester of 2013-2014 academic year Luleburgaz Situated in the town working in secondary schools was carried out on geography and social studies teachers. Participation in research on a voluntary basis, taking into account the surveyed 48 geography and social studies teachers applied to the questionnaire derived from the responses of evaluation applied in the questionnaire, data collection tool in the literature, commonly used 'CORD Teaching Approaches Inventory' were used were made. As a result of analysis of the data obtained according to the findings; geography and social studies teachers in general 'Concept Description Based' teaching styles they use have been identified. According to the findings of teachers and teaching styles as the second 'Based Learning' teaching style are using. Geography and social studies teachers to explain the concept and teaching methods based on learning, teaching objectives and teaching methods according to the analysis results obtained based on the findings; of geography and social studies teacher, recite towards starting the analysis, it is concluded that they plan a teaching purposes. Teacher of the second, starting from the analysis that they planned to recite a correct teaching purposes, whereas students can teach the subject better they are seen to focus on practice and application. As a result of the findings of geography and social studies teachers, teaching styles to modern educational science and geography curriculum approach is not suitable with the aim of.
