Türkiye'de çalışan çocuklarla ilgili yapılan çalışmaların çoğu belirli sektörlerdedir. Fakat sokakta çalışan çocuklarla ilgili yapılan çalışmalar ise oldukça sınırlıdır. Bu çalışma kentsel sorun alanları sokakta çalışan \ çalıştırılan çocuklar boyutuyla ele almaktadır. Bu konuda yapılmış araştırmalara farklı bir katkı getirebilme beklentisi doğrultusunda araştırma, kentsel sorunlara çocuk odaklı bakan, nitel bir çalışma özelliği taşımaktadır. Çocukların deneyimlerini, duygularını, algılarını düşüncelerini anlayabilmek için farklı konu başlıkları altında görüşmeler yapılmış ve değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırmada, katılımcı çocukların ailelerinin, gelir ve eğitim düzeyi oldukça düşük, ailelerin çok çocuklu ve kırsal alandan göç etmiş oldukları tespit edilmiştir. Ailelerin çocuklarının temel ihtiyaçlarını gidermekte zorluk çektiği, bu nedenle çocukların sokakta çalışmak zorunda kaldıkları edinilen bulgulardandır. Yine, çalışan çocuğun, sokakta çalışmaya ilişkin olumsuz tutumu, sorunlu aile yapıları içinde oluşları, eğitim almaya dair istekleri ve geleceğe yönelik umutsuzlukları çalışmada öne çıkan bulgulardandır. Most of the studies on children working in Turkey are in certain sectors. But the studies about children working on the streets is very limited. In this study, it has been discussed the children working or having worked on the street as an urban problem. In order to bring a different contribution to the researches done in this regard, the research which is a qualitative study focuses on the urban problems in terms of children. Children were interviewed and evaluated under different topics in order to understand their experiences, feelings, perceptions and thoughts. In the study, it was found that the income and education level of the families of the participant children were quite low and the families have migrated from rural areas with many children. It has been understood that families have difficulty in meeting the basic needs of children, therefore, they have to work in the street. The negative attitude of the children working about the working on the street, being in a problematic family structure, their demands on studying and their desperation for the future are the important findings in the study.
