Kuzeybatı Pisidia Bölgesi, doğuda Eğirdir Gölü, kuzeyde Karakuş Dağları; güneyde Davras Dağı ve Sagalassos'un bulunduğu Akdağ; batı da, Burdur Gölü'nün kuzeyi ve Söğüt Dağları'nın doğu uzantısı ile sınırlanmaktadır. Bölge, Perslerin Küçük Asya'yı ele geçirdiği İ.Ö. 547 tarihine kadar, önce Phrygia sonra Lydia yönetimine girmiş, Büyük İskender'in Küçük Asya'yı fethine kadar Pers yönetiminde kalmıştır. Diadokhlar Döneminde, yönetim değişiklikleri olmuş ve Agustus zamanında, Roma'nın Galatia eyaletine dâhil edilmiştir. Arkeolojik ve epigrafik veriler incelenerek, Kuzeybatı Pisidia Bölgesi'nin kültürel kimliğinin belirlenmesi çalışmanın amacını oluşturmaktadır. Yüzey araştırmaları ve kazı çalışmaları sonuçları, bölgede tespit edilen seramik-metal buluntular, mezar tipleri, mezar stelleri ve kaya mezarlarında Phryg-Lyd etkisi saptanmakta ve bu etkinin devam ettirildiği anlaşılmaktadır. Bu kültürel devamlılığın Hellenistik ve Roma İmparatorluk Dönemi'nde dahi süre gelmesi, Phry-Lyd kültürünün bölgedeki sağlam etkisini ve yerel kesimlerin kültürlerine oldukça bağlı olduklarını açıklamaktadır. Epigrafik verilerden, şahıs isimlerinin çoğunun Phryg-Lyd kökenli olduğu anlaşılmakta ve bölgede, İ.S. 2.-3. yüzyıla kadar kullanılmaya devam ettiği görülmektedir. Northwestern Pisidian Region is surrounded by Lake Eğirdir in the east, Karakuş Mountains in the north, Davras Mountain and Akdağ, where Sagalassos is located, in the south, and northern part of Lake Burdur and the eastern tip of the Söğüt Mountains in the west. Until 547 BC, when the Persians invaded Asia Minor, the region had been ruled by Phrygia and Lydia, respectively, and remained under the rule of Persians till Alexander the Great conquered Asia Minor. During the Diadokhs period, several authorities ruled the region and at the time of Augustus, it was annexed to the province of Galatia of Roman Empire. The objective of the current study is made up of identifying the cultural identity of the Northwestern Pisidian Region by investigating archeological and epigraphic data. Phryg-Lyd impact was found to be evident through the surface studies and excavation works, ceramic and metal findings gathered in the region, grave types, grave stele and rock tombs, and it was understood that the effect had been prolonged. The fact that this cultural continuity lasted even into Hellenistic Period and Roman Period indicates the sound effect of Phryg-Lyd culture in the region and that the locals were very much adherent to their culture. It was also revealed from the epigraphic data that most of the personal names were of Phryg-Lyd-origin set, and they continued to use these names until 2nd-3rd centuries AD.
