19. asır Klasik Türk Edebiyatı'nın son yüzyılıdır. Önceki yüzyıllardaki kadar nitelikli olmasa da bu yüzyılda da birçok divan şairi yetişmiştir. Fakat bu isimlerin çoğu yeterince tanınmamaktadır. Bu dönemin tanınmayan şairlerinden biri de Ispartalı Abdülkerim Nuri Efendi'dir. Şair, Isparta'da doğmuş ve ilk eğitimine burada başlamıştır. Daha sonra eğitimine İstanbul'da devam eden şair uzun süre kadılık yapmıştır. Şairin iş hayatı da İstanbul merkezli olmuştur. Abdülkerim Nuri Efendi'nin bu eseri, tarih manzumeleri ile öne çıkmaktadır. Eserde 147 manzume bulunmakta ve bunların 114 tanesini tarih manzumeleri oluşturmaktadır. Şair eserde, "tam tarih, noktalı tarih, noktasız tarih, dü ta" gibi birçok tarih düşürme türünde manzume kaleme almıştır. Şair, tarih manzumelerinde; cülus, önemli makamlara tayinler, ölüm, doğum, bina inşası gibi olayların yanında kendi kişisel yaşantısından bahsetmiştir. Ayrıca Abdülkerim Nuri Efendi, Sadrazam Mehmet Emin Paşa'nın Rumeli teftişini "Seyahat-ı Sadaret" adıyla ayrıntılarıyla anlatmıştır. Bu bölümde, Rumeli'de meydana gelen bir kısım menfi olaylardan ve bunların sorumlularına verilen cezalardan bahsetmiştir. Bu açıdan eser, tarihi bir önem taşımaktadır. Eserde, tarihi olayların bir kadı'nın ve bir şairin gözüyle verilmesi ayrıca önem arz etmektedir. Şair çevresinde gördüğü önemli olayları, gelecek nesillere edebi sanat kabul edilen "tarih düşürme" sanatıyla bedii bir şekilde aktarmıştır. 19. Century was the last century of the Classical Turkish Literature. Although not as qualified as the previous centuries, many divan poets grew up in that century. However, many of these names aren't known enough. One of the unknown poets of the century is Abdulkarim Nuri Effendi from Isparta. The poet was born in Isparta and started his first education there. Then, he continued his education in Istanbul and was khadi for a long time. The work life of the poet was Istanbul-centered. This work of Abdulkarim Nuri Effendi comes forth with its isopsephic poems. There are 147 poems in the work and 114 of these poems are isopsephic poems. The poet wrote poems in many forms of date identifying such as full date, dotted date, undotted date, and double date. In his poets, the poet talked about his personal life beside the events such as enthronement, appointment to important positions, death, birth, and building. Abdulkarim Nuri Effendi also narrated the Vizier Mehmet Emin Pasha's Rumelia inspection in detail with the name "Seyahat-ı Sadaret". In this section, he talked about the negative events happened in Rumelia and the penalties given to those who were responsible from the events. Therefore, this work has a historical significance. That the historical events in the work are given from the point of view of a khadi and a poet is also important. The poet aesthetically narrated the important events, which he witnessed, to the next generations through art of "abjad", which is accepted as literary art.
