Çalışmamızda İkinci Dünya Savaşı sonrasında, Soğuk Savaş sürecinin bir tezahürü olarak uygulanan Marshall Planı'nın Adana'ya Etkileri ele alınmıştır. Çalışmaya '' Marshall Planı'nın Türkiye ve Adana'daki ekonomik gelişim ve yarattığı sosyal değişim nasıl olmuştur?'' sorusundan hareket edilerek yön verilmiştir. İlk olarak, Marshall Planı'nın ortaya çıkışı, fiiliyata geçiş süreci ve uygulama alanları irdelenmiş, bunun için de dönemin basılı yayın kaynakları yani gazeteleri, dergileri, meclis görüşmeleri, raporları, arşivleri taranmıştır. Sovyetler Birliği, önemli bir komünist yayılma peşindeydi. Aynı dönemde Avrupa savaştan çok kötü bir halde çıkmış ve sanayisi harap olmuştu. Kendi imkânlarıyla ayağa kalkabilecek bir halde değildi. Dışarıdan bir destek gerekiyordu. Bu desteği ABD sağladı. ABD, bu plan ile sadece Avrupa ekonomisinin gelişmesini sağlamamış aynı zamanda ABD'nin ekonomik geleceğini de kurtarmıştır. Bu plan ile Avrupa ekonomisi savaştan önceki günlerine geri dönüş sinyalleri vermiş ve Sovyetler Birliği'nin yayılması karşısında kendisini korumuştur. Bu sürecin genelde Türkiye'ye özelde ise Adana'ya yansımaları irdelenmiş, Marshall yardımlarının Adana'da toplumsal ve kültürel yapı üzerindeki etkileri üzerinde durulmuştur. Gelen çok sayıda tarım aleti, sulama ekipmanları ve yöntemleri, gübre kullanımı gibi tarımsal işleyişi kökten değiştirmiş olan bu yardımlar Adana halkı üzerinde ciddi dönüşümlere vesile olmuş yeni iş kolları oluşmuştur. In this study, after the Second World War and the Cold War as a manifestation of the Marshall Plan implemented in Adana have been addressed. This plan has given European economies the turn signals back to earlier days from the war and he has kept himself in the face of the Soviet Union's expansion. This process usually been discussed in particular the implications of Adana in Turkey. Marshall Aid focused on Adana its impact on the social and cultural structure. From a large number of agricultural tools, irrigation equipment and methods, using fertilizer which radically changed the iragricultural operations.
