Günümüzde salt kamu kaynaklarına dayalı ekonomik kalkınma modelleri geçerliliğini yitirmektedir. Gelişmiş ülkeler artık istihdam ve kalkınmayı kamu kaynaklarından ziyade girişimciler ile yerine getirmektedir. Dünya'daki ekonomik yarışta Türkiye'nin en büyük avantajlarından birisi eğer çağın gerektirdiği eğitim ile donatılabilirse hepsi birer girişimci adayı olan genç nüfusudur. Genç girişimciler sahip oldukları, yenilikçi ruhları, cesaretleri, kendi işlerini kurma konusundaki istekleri, mevcut ekonomik ortamı sorgulamaları, fırsat ve sonuç odaklı çalışmaları ile içinde bulundukları ekonomiler için önemli bir değer oluşturmaktadırlar. Tüm Dünya'da olduğu gibi Türkiye'de de genç girişimcilik, son yıllarda stratejik bir alan olarak değerlendirilmekle beraber, sahip olunan genç girişimci sayısının ve niteliğinin arttırılması için girişimcilere yönelik teşvikler artırılmaktadır. Yapılan bu çalışma ile öncelikle Türkiye'de girişimcilik alanında sahip olunan genç girişimci potansiyelinin ortaya konulmasına ve ülkemizdeki genç girişimci adaylarının önündeki temel engellerin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Ayrıca bu engellerin ortadan kaldırılması ve genç girişimci sayısı ile niteliğinin arttırılması için birey, kamu ve toplum merkezli çözüm önerilerinde bulunulmuştur. Today, the economic development models which depend solely on public resources are outdated. Developed countries facilitate employment and development by entrepreneur instead of facilitating them by public resources. The biggest advantage of Turkey in economic competence in the world is the young population that Turkey has as long as Turkey can achieve to educate them according to the needs of our era. Thanks to their innovative souls, willingness to establish their own jobs, questioning abilities, courages, opportunity and output focused attitudes, young entrepreneurs are worthy for the economical environment in which they are. In Turkey as it is in the world, young entrepreneurship has been considered as a strategic power recently. Also the incentives for the young entrepreneurs has been extended in order to increase the number and the qualifications of them. This study primarily aimed at showing the potential of young entrepreneurs of Turkey and determining the main obstacles that the future's young entrepreneurs they face. This study also provides individual, society, and public-centered possible solutions in order to remove those obstacles and increase the number and the quality of the young entrepreneurs.
