Sağlık hizmeti, bireyin hayatını olumsuz şekilde etkileyen faktörlerin giderilmesi, hastalıklarının tedavi edilmesi ya da mevcut sağlık durumunun muhafaza edilmesi ve geliştirilmesi amacıyla sunulan hizmetler bütünü olarak ifade edilmektedir. Bu kapsamda sağlık hizmetlerinin dil, din, ırk ve siyasi görüş gibi farklılıkları gözetmeksizin herkese eşit düzeyde verilmesi gerektiği yadsınamaz bir gerçektir. Ancak gerek ekonomik yetersizliklerden, gerekse toplumların içinde bulunduğu çeşitli sosyopolitik nedenlerden dolayı birçok insan sağlık hizmetine erişim noktasında problemler yaşamaktadır. Bu noktada ise maddi menfaat beklentisinden uzak, gönüllülük esasına dayalı bir çalışma sistemini benimsemiş olan üçüncü sektör, sağlık hizmetlerine erişimde dezavantajlı durumda olan bu insanlara sağlık hizmeti sunmaktadır. Bu çalışmada Türkiye'de sağlık hizmeti alanında aktif faaliyet gösteren üçüncü sektör kuruluşlarının tespit edilmesi ve sağlık alanında ne tür faaliyetlerde bulunduklarının belirlenmesi hedeflenmiştir. Bu hedefe ilişkin veri toplama yöntemi olarak web tarama yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın evrenini Türkiye'de sağlık hizmeti alanında ulusal ve uluslararası düzeyde aktif faaliyet gösteren üçüncü sektör kuruluşlarının tamamı oluşturmaktadır. Örneklem ise bu evrenden ulaşılmış 11 uluslararası ve 12 ulusal kuruluştan oluşmaktadır. Bu araştırma ile üçüncü sektör kuruluşlarının sağlık hizmeti alanında aktif faaliyet göstererek ihtiyaç sahibi bireylere ulaştığı, böylelikle toplumsal adaletin sağlanması, birlik ve beraberlik duygularının geliştirilmesi ve toplumsal duyarlılığın gelişmesinde önemli bir rol oynadığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Bununla birlikte, sağlık hizmeti alanında faaliyet gösteren üçüncü sektör kuruluşlarının genellikle koruyucu sağlık hizmeti alanında faaliyet gösterdiği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Bu duruma ise Afrika'da yaşanan insanlık dramında üçüncü sektörün diğer iki sektöre kıyasla daha mücadeleci tavır sergilemesi ya da 2015 yılında Van'da yaşanan depreme önce Kızılay'ın yetişmesi örnek olarak gösterilebilir. The health service is defined as the entirety of services rendered for the elimination of the factors that affect the individuals' life negatively and the treatment of their illnesses or sustaining and improving their current health status. In this context, it is an undeniable fact that health services must be provided at an equal level for everyone without any regard to language, religion, race and political opinion differences. However, many people experience problems for accessing health services due to both the economic inadequacies and various socio-political reasons that the societies experience. At this juncture, the third sector, which has adapted an operation system based on voluntarism without any material benefit anticipation, renders services for these people who are disadvantageous for accessing health services. In this study, it was aimed to designate the third sector establishments engaging in the health services field actively in Turkey and to determine the type of activities they conduct in the health field. The web searching method was used as a data collection method for attaining this target. The research population consisted of the entirety of the third sector establishments operating actively in the national level and international level in the health field in Turkey. The samples comprised of 11 international establishments and 12 national establishments that were reached in this population. It was concluded in this research that the third sector establishments engaged in the health services field quite actively and reached the needy societies and in this context, they played an important role for achieving social justice, improving the unity and solidarity perceptions and for raising social awareness. Furthermore, it was deduced that the third sector establishments, which operated in the health service field, engaged in the preventive health service field largely. The examples for this situation can be listed as the more contentious attitude of the third sector in comparison to the other two sectors during the human drama experienced in Africa or Kızılay (the Red Crescent) reaching the earthquake in Van in 2015 first.
