Dünya petrol rezervlerinin tükeniyor olması, karayolu ulaşımında yaygın olarak kullanılan petrol enerjisine alternatif yakıt arayışlarını tetiklemektedir. Alternatif yakıt sistemleri ise hem yeni teknoloji ile üretilen ve hem de mevcut teknolojiye uygulanabilen sistemler olarak iki grupta yer alır. Yeni teknoloji ile üretilen enerji sistemlerinden olan elektrik ve hibrit yakıt sistemleri mevcut araçlara uygulanabilir bir sistem değildir. Bu nedenle bu sistemlerin kullanımı piyasada hali hazırda bulunan petrol kaynaklı yakıt sistemli araçların tedavülden kalkmadan mümkün olmayabilir. Ancak mevcut teknolojiye uygulanabilen yakıt sistemlerinden olan LPG, hidrojen, doğal gaz gibi yakıt sistemleri mevcut araçların kullanımını devam ettirebilecektir. Bu çalışma Türkiye'de mevcut karayolu ulaşımında kullanılan yakıt teknolojisi temel alınarak ve alternatif yakıt olarak doğal gaz kullanımı üzerine değerlendirmelerden oluşmaktadır. Bu çalışmada CNG (Compressed Natural Gas (Sıkıştırılmış Doğal Gaz)) yakıt sisteminin Türkiye için muhtemel etkileri farklı açılardan değerlendirilmiştir. Gerçekleştirilen değerlendirmeler sonucunda çevre, tasarruf, verimlilik, makro ekonomik ve mikro ekonomik etkiler üzerinde tahminlerde bulunulmuştur. Running out of the world oil reseves triggers the search for fuel alternative to petroleum energy which is widely used in road transportation. Alternative fuel systems take places both of which are produced with new technology and which can be applied to existing technology. Electricity and hybrid fuel systems from energy systems produced with new technology are not applicable systems to existing vehicles. For this reason, the using of these systems might not be possible without falling into disuse vehicles with petroleum-based fuel systems already in the market. However, fuel systems such as LPG, hydrogen, natural gas, which are the fuel systems that can be applied to existing technology, will be able to continue to use existing vehicles. This study is based on the fuel technology used for road transportation in Turkey and estimation on the use of natural gas as an alternative fuel. In this study, the possible effects of CNG fuel system for Turkey are evaluated from different effects. As a result of the estimates have been made on environmental, savings, productivity, macroeconomic and microeconomic effects.
