Bu tezin amacı, Platon ve Aristoteles'in kavram anlayışlarını varlık, dil ve düşünceyle olan bağlarıyla birlikte epistemik açıdan, mantık felsefesi kapsamında incelemektir. Doğru bilginin imkânını değişmez ontik öz ile savunan her iki filozof, farklı varlık ve bilgi felsefeleriyle, kavramların varlıkla ve bilgiyle olan ilişkisini kendine özgü bir tutarlılıkla tesis etmektedirler. Öz, Platon'da duyusala aşkın idealarda, Aristoteles'te ise duyumsanan varlıkta, ona içkin olarak konumlandırılmıştır. Gerçek, sabit ve değişmez özün ontolojik açıdan farklı olarak ele alınması, kavramların varlıkla olan ilişkisinin nasıl olduğu sorusunu ortaya çıkarmaktadır. Öte yandan her iki filozofun doğru bilgi anlayışları da söz konusu ontik temellerden hareketle birbirinden farklı olarak gelişmektedir. Değişen bilgi anlayışları ise kavramların hakikate erişme noktasında hangi süreçlerden geçtiğini ve ne tür bir güvenli bilgi öğesine dönüştüğünü anlamayı zorunlu kılmaktadır. Ayrıca, düşünce ve varlık arasındaki ilişkinin mantıksal ve felsefi olarak görünür kılınmasını sağlayan dilin de değişen varlık ve bilgi anlayışlarında kavramlarla nasıl tutarlı bir ilişki kurduğu analiz edilmelidir. Bu çalışma, her iki filozofun değişen ontoloji ve epistemolojilerinde kavramları varlık, dil ve düşünce açısından tutarlı olarak nasıl birbiriyle ilişkilendirdiklerini inceleyerek, değişen ontoloji ve epistemolojilerde kavramların farklı konumlandırılabileceğini ortaya koymaya çalışmaktadır. The aim of this thesis is to analyse the concept understandings of Plato and Aristotle in terms of its relations with existence, language and thought epistemically from the perspective of philosophy of logic. Accepting the possibility of true knowledge, based on an essentialist ontology understanding, both philosophers have a unique way of ontological and epistemological approaches that affect the relations of concepts with existence, language and thought. While Plato positions essence in Ideas as transcendent to sensibles, Aristotle structures essence as immanent to it. This positioning of the ontologically different real, unchangeable and constant essence, in fact, poses the question that what kind of relation do concepts have with existence. Moreover, the understanding of true knowledge also develops different from each other unlike ontologies. These epistemological varieties of the philosophers necessitate to comprehend the processes which concepts go through the way of reality, and what kind of trustable knowledge element have concepts become. Likewise, it becomes indispensable to question language, as a mediator between thought and existence that make concepts logically and philosophically visible that how its relation with concepts are developed in these different ontologies and epistemologies. Thus, it is the purpose of the present study that concepts might be structured in logic and philosophy differently by handling and analysing in detail both philosophers‟ coherent positioning concepts with existence, thought and language, which are quite different from each other.
