Çalışmamız, belâgat açısından Ebû Hayyân'ın el-Bahru'l-Muhît adlı eserinin incelenmesidir. Ebû Hayyân, Endülüs Emevî Devleti'nin Gırnâta şehrine bağlı Matahşâraş beldesinde 654/1256 yılında dünyaya gelmiştir. Gramer, lügat, edebiyat, tefsir, kıraat, tarih, fıkıh, hadis gibi ilimleri yirmi beş yaşına kadar memleketinde tahsil etmiştir. Daha sonra doğup büyüdüğü yerden ayrılıp bazı ülkelere ilim tahsili için seyahatler yaptıktan sonra Mısır'a yerleşip orada 745/1345 yılında vefât etmiştir. Mısır'da dönemin ileri gelen âlimlerinden dersler alarak iyi bir şekilde kendisini yetiştiren Ebû Hayyân, daha sonra Arap dili belâgatı, tefsir, fıkıh gibi alanlarda söz sahibi olan âlimlerden olmuştur. Bu durum kendisine verilen şu lakaplardan anlaşılmaktadır: Nahviyyu 'Asrihi ve Luğaviyyihi ve Müfessirihi, İmâmu'n-Nuhât, eş-Şeyhu'l-İmâmu'l-'Allâme, Şeyhu'l-'Arabiyyeti ve'l-Edeb, İmâmu'l-Mufessirîn, Huccetu'l-'Arab, Lisânu'l-'Arab gibi.. Ebû Hayyân, el-Bahru'l-Muhît'i 57 yaşında yazmaya başlamış ve yaklaşık on sekiz yılda tamamlamıştır. Arap belâgatı alanında önemli bir yere sahip olan bu eser, nahiv, sarf, lugat, lehçeler ve kıraatler gibi konular açısından da çok zengindir. Ebû Hayyân, bu eserinde belâgî özellikler üzerinde büyük oranda durmuştur. Konuyla ilgili olarak âlimlerin görüşlerini sunmakta bu görüşleri tartışmakta bazen bunların bir veya bir kaçını tercih etmekte daha sonra da genelde kendi görüşünü sunmaktadır. Bu çalışma, el-Bahru'l-Muhît tefsir adlı eserindeki meânî ilminin haber ve inşâ cümlesi, takdim ve te'hir, zikir ve hazif, fasıl ve vasıl, îcâz ve itnab, hasr gibi konuları ayrıntılı bir şekilde ele almaktadır. Ebû Hayyân'ın teşbih, mecaz, istiâre ve kinâye üzerinde örneklerle uygulamalı bir şekilde durduğunu göstermeye çalıştık. Ebû Hayyân'ın Bedî' ilminin konularından olan tıbak, mukabele, müşakele gibi manayı ve lafzı güzelleştiren sanatların âyetlere anlam ve ses yönünden nasıl katkı sağladığı meselesini ve bunu hangi yönlerden incelediğini tespit etmeye çalıştık. Our study is the analysis of Ebû Hayyân's work called as el-Bahru'l-Muhît in terms of rhetoric. Ebû Hayyân was born in 654/1256 at Matahşâraş municipality of the Gharnata city in Andalus Umayyad State. He studied on the sciences such as grammar, linguistics, literature, hermeneutics, recitation, history, İslâmic law and hadith until his 25 age in his hometown. Later he left the place he was born and he grew up and he traveled to some countries for studying and settled in Egypt and then died there in 745/1345. Ebû Hayyân, who trained well in Egypt by taking courses from his foremost scholars of the time, later became one of the scholars who had a say in these fields. This is evident from the following nicknames given to him: Nahviyyu 'Asrihi and Luğaviyyihi and Müfessirihi, İmâmu'n-Nuhât, eş-Şeyhu'l-İmâmu'l-'Allâme, Şeyhu'l-'Arbiyyeti ve'l-Edeb, İmâmu'l-Mufessirîn, Huccetu'l-'Arab, Lisânu'l-'Arab etc. This work, which has an important place in the field of Arabic rhetoric, is very rich in terms of syntax, grammar, linguistics, dialects and recitation. Ebû Hayyân substantially focused on rherotical features in this work. He presented the views of scholars about this topic and discusses these views and sometimes prefers one or some of them and then generally he presented his own views. Purpose of this study is to analyze the hermeunatic book of al-Bahru'l-Muhît in terms of rhetoric. Ebû Hayyân suggests that he handles the topics of meani science such as indicative and construction forms, transposition, dhikr and hazf, fasil and vasil, icaz and itnab and hasr in detail. In this work we tried to indicate that Abu Hayyân described the declaration, as presentation of dictionary meaning and making it understandable, and that focused practically on the parts of declaration such as simile, metaphor, figure of speech and allusion with examples. We tried to determine how and from which aspects Ebû Hayyân analyzed how the arts such as tibak, mukabala, and musakala from the subjects of Bedi science which enhance the meaning and sound contributed to verse of Quran in terms of meaning and voice. It is observed in Ebû Hayyân's al-Bahru'l-Muhît work that he prepared his comments on the basis of the view that the people who are engaged to hermeneutics should be very competent on rhetoric science.
