Türkiye'deki son ekonomik büyüme ile birlikte kozmetik ve kişisel bakım ürünlerinin tüketimi ve üretimi hızla artmaktadır. Bununla birlikte kozmetik ve kişisel bakım ürün yelpazesi de her geçen yıl artmaktadır. Türkiye'de kozmetik ve kişisel bakım ürünleri pazarında en büyük paya Saç bakım ürünleri sahip olup sektörün yaklaşık yüzde 59'unu oluşturmaktadır. Türk kozmetik sektörünün Avrupalı lisans sahibi şirketler ve üretim avantajına sahip özellikle BRIC ülkeleri ile rekabet edebilmesinde hem ithalat bağımlılığı hem de üretim maliyeti bakımından dezavantajlı durumda olduğu görülmektedir. Bu durumun aşılmasında, kurumsallaşmış bir mesleki örgütlenme, etkili yasal ve idari düzenlemeler ile birlikte uzmanlığın geliştirildiği doğal ürünler kullanılabilecektir. Bu çalışmada Türkiye ve Avrupa kozmetik sektörlerinin mevcut durumu ve görünümü hakkında açıklamalar yapılmıştır. Araştırmada kozmetik sektörünün incelenmesinin üç temel nedeni bulunmaktadır. Birincisi bu sektöre yönelik az sayıda çalışma yapılmış olması ve yapılan çalışmaların da sektörün iş hacmi ve istihdam durumu bakımından değil estetik öğeler bakımından incelenmiş olmasıdır. İkincisi de kozmetik sektörünün gelişmekte olan pazar yapısına dikkat çekerek, ihracat potansiyeli ve istihdam üretebilme kapasitesi hakkında bir görüş ortaya koyabilmektir. Üçüncüsü ise özellikle Türk kozmetik sektörünün başlıca rekabet avantajının organik ürünler bağlamında gelişebileceğine dikkat çekebilmektir. Consumption and production of cosmetics and personal care products along with recent economic growth in Turkey is increasing rapidly. However, cosmetics and personal care products are growing every year. In cosmetics and personal care products market in Turkey it is the largest shareholder Hair care products accounted for approximately 59 percent of the sector. The Turkish cosmetics industry has some drawbacks in that it can compete with European licensed companies and production advantages, especially with BRIC countries. Because it is seen that both imports are dependent and the production cost is disadvantageous. In overcoming this situation, natural products can be used that have an institutionalized professional organization, effective legislation and administrative regulations, as well as specialized expertise. In this study, Turkey and the European cosmetic industry has made statements about the current situation and appearance. There are three basic reasons for the investigation of the cosmetic sector in the research. The first is that few studies have been conducted for this sector. And the earlier research done was made for aesthetic purposes, not for business volume and employment. The second is to draw attention to the fact that the cosmetics sector is a developing market, to be able to express opinions about the export potential and employment creation situation. The third is to show that the Turkish cosmetic industry has competitive advantage with organic products.
