Milleti millet yapan değerlerin başında kimlik ve kültür gelmektedir. Kültür ise sanat ve bilimin sentezinden oluşmaktadır. Sanatın ise birçok tanımı vardır ve en genel tanımı itibariyle sanat, insanın kendi iç ve dış dünyasına ait olan duygu ve düşüncelerini güzel ve estetik bir şekilde farklı objelerle ifade etmesidir. Her medeniyet kendi kültürünü, inançlarını, duygularını, değerlerini ve gücünü simgeleyerek kalıcı olmak için sanat eserleri üretmiştir. Bu sanat eserleri aynı zamanda o medeniyet hakkında önemli bir belge niteliği taşımaktadır. Bu bağlamda Türk kültüründe yer alan geleneksel el sanatlarımızdan cilt sanatı örnek olarak verilebilir.Cilt; kitap sayfalarını bir arada tutmak için yapılır. Ayrıca korumak amacıyla da yapılmıştır. Kitap kapaklarının ve içeriğinin tezhip desenleriyle süsleme yapılarak görünümü zenginleştirilmesiyle de süsleme sanatları içinde; yerini almıştır. Klâsik dönem - Kanûnî Sultan Süleyman Devri (1520-1566) bu sanatların motif, renk ve üslûp bakımından en parlak ve gösterişli dönemidir. Günümüzde teknolojide yaşanan gelişmelerden dolayı örneğin e-kitapların çıkması ve kullanılması, ekonomik sıkıntılar, cilt sanatının da diğer el sanatları gibi geri planda kalmasına neden olmuştur. Çünkü cilt sanatında altın ve deri gibi pahalı malzemelerin kullanılması ekonomik anlamda sanatçıyı zorlamaktadır. Bu konuda iv yetişmiş uzman ve ustaların da azalmış olması ayrıca bir başka olumsuz etken olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, binlerce yıldır var olan bu sanatın yapılmasında harcanan yoğun el emeği ve uzun süreyi, günümüz teknolojisini kullanarak daha pratik ve daha az zaman alacak şekilde uygulamaktır. Ayrıca günlük yaşamda hemen hemen her alanda kullanışlı hale getirmek ve kaybolmaya yüz tutan bu sanatın unutulmamasını sağlamaktır. Bu çalışmada XVI. yüzyıl dönemi cilt sanatına ait motif, desen, bezeme unsurları, üslûpları ve renk bilgileri ile ilgili alan araştırması yapılacak sonra elde edilen veriler teknolojiyle birleştirilip işlenerek farklı materyaller ve alanlara uygulamaları yapılacaktır. The art has a lot of descriptions and the most widely-used description of art, the person express emotions and opinions to be owned by him/herself inner and outer world, by the way of artistic and pleasent with different objects. Every civilitazion producted art objects to stay around by symbolizing own culture, believes, emotions, values and authority. Also,these art objects are rated as the important document about that civilization.In this context, Bookbinding from national handcrafts are taken place at Turkish Culture are given an example. Skin; to keep book pages together. It was also made to protect. The decoration of the book covers and the contents of the book are decorated with decorative designs. has taken its place. The Classical Period - Süleyman the Sufi (1520-1566) is the most brilliant and glamorous period in terms of motif, color and style of these arts. Today, due to developments in technology, for example, the emergence and use of e-books has caused economic troubles and skin art to remain on the back as other crafts. Because of the use of expensive materials such as gold and leather in the art of skin, the artist is pushing economically. The fact that the number of trained experts and masters have also decreased in this regard has also proven to be another negative factor.The aim of this working, spending intense handicrafts and long time to make this art existed for thousands of years, apply more practice and less time wasted using by contemporary technology. Additionally, in daily life this art nearly makes handy ever area and not to cause everyone to forget after a while this art lost. At this Project, an area research will be made concerned with the motif, pattern, items of ornament, styles and knowledges of colour of 16th century period book binding art.
