Bireyin güven algısı, toplum yapısı, kültür, kişisel değerler ve kişinin bilişsel alt yapısındaki şemalara bağlı olarak belirlenmektedir. Bu bağlamda bireyin zihninde oluşan güvenilir hekim olgusunun şemaların oluşmasında etkisi olduğu bilinen stereotipler yoluyla şekillendiği ifade edilebilir. Bu araştırma, hekim-hasta ilişkisinde temel değerlerden biri olan güven kavramını, güvenilir hekimi tanımlayan özelliklerin ortaya çıkarılması yoluyla incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda Türkiye'deki hekim streotipleri belirlenerek ortalama bir hekim hakındaki genel algı tespit edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Daha sonra güvenilir bir hekimde aranılan özellikler (güvenilir hekim prototipleri) ortaya çıkarılarak, hekim stereotipleri ve iyi hekim, başarılı hekim ve tercih edilen hekim algıları ile karşılaştırılmıştır. Ayrıca hekim sterotipleri ve güvenilir hekim prototipleri ile stereotiplerin oluşumunda önemli bir etken olan cinsiyet ile ilişkisi üzerinde durulmuştur. Bu sayede Türkiye'de hekim ve güvenilir hekimin karakteristik özelliklerinin, toplumun zihnindeki algısına ait bir çerçeve sunulmaya çalışılmıştır. Araştırmada, sıfat listeleri tekniğinden biri olan Schein'ın (1973) metodolojisinden yararlanılarak hekim özelliklerini içeren bir tanımlayıcı endeks geliştirilmiştir. Bu tanımlayıcı endeks, hekim, güvenilir hekim, iyi hekim, tercih edilen hekim, başarılı hekim ve kadın, erkek başlıkları ile yedi farklı örneklem grubuna uygulanmıştır. Araştırma, Burdur il merkezinde yaşayan 2527 kişi ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırma sonuçlarında, güvenilir hekimin işini dikkatle yaptığı işine özen gösterdiği, dikkatli ve işinde disiplinli olduğu, iyi bir dinleyici olup bilgi olarak donanımlı olduğu ayrıca anlayışlı, saygılı, başarılı, dürüst ve güvenilir algılandığı görülmüştür. Türkiye'de hekimlere ait stereotiplerin cinsiyet ile açıklanamadığı ancak güvenilir hekim prototipinin dişil algılandığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Türkiye'de güvenilir hekimin aynı zamanda iyi ve başarılı olarak algılandığı ayrıca tercih edildiği görülmüştür. Dişil özelliklerin iletişimsel ve sosyal boyutlara atıf yapmaktadır. Yöneticiler ve hekimlerin güvenin arttırılması için bu boyutları dikkate alarak gerekli çalışmaları yapması önerilmektedir. The central role of trust in the physician-patient relationship has been known for a long time. High trust to one's physician is associated with high patient satisfaction, treatment compliance, continuity of care and health outcomes. Although these associations point to the importance of trust in patient-physician relationship, studies on understanding the perception of trust in physicians are not sufficient. The individual's perception of trust depends on the structure of society, culture, personal values, and the cognitive subscale of the person. In this context, it can be expressed that the formation of a reliable physician in the mind of the individual is shaped through the stereotypes known to be influential in the formation of the shemas. This research aims to investigate the concept of trust, which is one of the basic values in physician-patient relationship, by revealing the characteristics that define trusted physician. For this purpose, physicians' stereotypes in Turkey have been determined and tried to determine the general perception of an average physician. Then, the physician's stereotypes and the characteristics of a trusted physician (trusted physician's prototypes) , were compared with good physician, successful physician and preferred physician characteristics. In addition, physician stereotypes and trusted physician prototypes have been focused on the relationship with gender, which is an important factor in the formation of stereotypes. In this way, the characteristics of a trusted physicians and physicians in Turkey, has attempted to present a frame of perception in society's mind. In the research, a descriptive index including physician characteristics was developed by using the methodology of Schein (1973), one of the adjective list techniques. This descriptive index was applied to seven different sample groups with physician, trusted physician, good physician, preferred physician, successful physician and female, male titles. The study was conducted with 2527 people living in Burdur province center. The results of the research showed that a trusted physician was careful about his work and took care of his work, that he was careful and disciplined in his work, a good listener, equipped with information and also understanding, respectful, successful, honest and trustworthy. The stereotypes of physicians in Turkey, can not be explained by gender, but have concluded that trusted physician's prototype of the feminine perception. At the same time, in Turkey trusted physicians are perceived as good and successful and also preferred. Feminine attributes refer to communicative and social dimensions.It is suggested that administrators and physicians should make necessary studies in order to increase their confidence by considering these dimensions.
