İnsanoğlunun öğrenme merakı, hep daha iyiye güzele ulaşma arzusu, tarih boyunca eğitimin ön planda olmasında önemli rol oynamıştır. İnsanlar, doğuştan gelen öğrenme merakı ve bilgiyi kullanma özellikleri sayesinde dünya üzerinde hâkimiyet kurmuş, daha güvenilir barınaklar yapmış, daha verimli üretim teknikleri geliştirmişlerdir. Bütün bu faaliyetlerde eğitimin etkin bir rolü olmuştur. Eğitim, birçok farklı unsurun etkisiyle şekillenmektedir. Bu nedenle eğitimin içeriği, şekli, süresi gibi konularda toplumlar arasında ciddi farklılıklar kaçınılmaz bir şekilde ortaya çıkmaktadır. Hatta aynı toplum kesiminde bile zaman içinde eğitime bakış açısında, yürütülmesinde, müfredat hususunda vs. önemli değişiklikler söz konusu olmaktadır. Hizmet sektöründe faaliyet gösteren özel ve kamuya ait eğitim kurumları yarının beşeri kaynağını yetiştirmekte ve bir ülkenin geleceğine yön vermektedir. Eğitim kurumlarında çalışan öğretmenlerin meslek ahlâkına ilişkin görüşleri, meslek ahlâkı ilkelerine uyma düzeyleri bu açıdan önemlidir. "Bilgi toplumu" olarak anılan günümüz toplumunda eğitim, tarihin diğer dönemlerinde olduğundan çok daha etkin bir rol üstlenmektedir. Bu nedenle hem kamu hem özel sektör eğitime ciddi kaynaklar ayırmakta ve yeni yatırımlara, yeni projelere girişmektedir. Eğitim sürecinin en önemli unsurlarından biri öğretmen olduğu için bu çalışmada meslek ahlâkı perspektifinden öğretmenlik mesleği ele alınmıştır. Araştırma; giriş, teorik çerçeve, bulgular ve yorumlar ile sonuç kısımlarından oluşmaktadır. Bu araştırmanın ilk amacı kamu ve özel öğretim kurumlarında görev yapan öğretmenlerin, öğretmenlik meslek ahlâkına aykırı davranışlara ilişkin tutumları ile velilerin öğretmenlik meslek ahlâkına ilişkin tutumları arasında farklılık olup olmadığını tespit etmektir. Araştırmanın ikinci amacı öğretmenlerin ve velilerin öğretmenlik meslek ahlâkına ilişkin tutum düzeylerini ölçmek ve öğretmenlik meslek ahlâkına ilişkin tutum düzeylerinde özel ve kamu okulları arasında bir fark olup olmadığını ortaya çıkarmaktır. Araştırmanın üçüncü amacı ise öğretmenlik meslek ahlâkına aykırı davranışların öğretmenler arasında görülme derecesinin hem öğretmenler hem de veliler için yaş, cinsiyet, okul türü, meslekteki kıdemi, medeni durum gibi değişkenlerle arasında bir ilişki olup olmadığını tespit etmektir. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre veli ve öğretmenlerin meslek ahlâkına ilişkin farkındalıkları yüksek düzeydedir. Ancak öğretmenlerle veliler arasında meslek ahlâkına aykırı davranışlarla ilgili tutum düzeylerinde farklılıklar söz konusudur. Öğretmenlerin meslek ahlâkı ilkelerine uygun davrandıkları yönündeki tutumları velilere göre genel olarak hep daha yüksek olarak bulunmuştur. Öğretmenlerin meslek ahlâkına ilişkin tutum düzeyleri ve meslek ahlâkına aykırı davranışları özel ve kamu okullarında çalışma durumlarına göre kısmen de olsa farklılık göstermektedir. Education has an effective role in all these human activities. Education is shaped by the influence of many different factors. Thus, there inevitably emerge significant differences among the societies in terms of duration, form and content of education. Even in the same community, through the time, there have been significant changes in the perspective of education, its execution and curriculum. Private and public educational institutions operating in the service sector train the human resource of tomorrow and direct the future of a country. İt is important in this respect that the views of teachers, working educational institutions, on Professional ethics and their compliance with the principles of professional ethics. Education has a much more effective role in today's society which is often refferred to as the information society than in any time in history. The factors that maket he countries developed and welfare states ar not just natural sources and physical capital. The main factor is the well trained and quality human/work forces and the quality of business/professional ethics these forces have. Thus, both public and private sector invest considerable amounts, undertake new projects. One of the most important elements of education process in the teacher itself, so, in this study, teaching profession is discussed about the perspective of professional ethics. The study consists of introduction, theoretical framework, findings, comment and result. The first objective of study is to determine whether there is a difference between the level of perception and observation of the teachers who work in puplic and private institutions on professional ethics an the parents. The second objective of the study is to measure the level of perception of professional ethics of teachers an to find out whether there is a difference between private and public scholls. The third objective of the study is to determine the degree of violation of professional ethics among teachers is related to variables, such as age, gender, school type, martial status, carier senority, etc. For both teachers and parents or not. According to results of the study, parent's, and teacher's awareness of professional ethics is of high level. Yet, there are differences in perception of behaviours that violate professional ethics between teachers and parents. Perception of teachers that they believe accordance with the principles of professional ethics were generally found to be higher than that of parents. The level of teachers' perception of professional ethics and their behaviours against professional ethics partly differ depending an their working place, public or private scholls.
