Tutum araştırmalarında açık ve örtük tutumların birbirinden farklı olması araştırmacıları örtük ölçüm yöntemlerini kullanmaya sevk etmiştir. Örtük ölçümlerle yapılan çalışmalarda açık ölçümlerden farklı olarak bireyin farkındalığının ve kontrolünün dışında gerçekleşen tutumları açığa çıkarılabilmektedir. Örtük tutumlar deneyimlerin etkisiyle öğrenilmekte farkında dâhi olmadan bireyin tercihlerine ve davranışlarına yön verebilmektedir. Bireyin tercih ve davranışlarını etkileyen örtük tutumların bu açıdan örgütsel araştırmalarda kullanılması önemlidir. Literatürde hemşirelerin mesleklerine yönelik örtük tutumu ele alan herhangi bir çalışmaya rastlanmamıştır. Bu sebeple, hemşirelerin mesleklerine yönelik örtük tutumların belirlenmesi ve hemşirelik mesleğine yönelik örtük tutumların farklı değişkenlerle ilişkisinin incelenmesi çalışmanın amacını oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada laboratuvar ortamı oluşturularak katılımcılara ilk olarak Örtük Çağrışım Testi sonrasında ise açık ölçüm araçları uygulanmıştır. Elde edilen veriler SPSS 22.0 paket programı kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Çalışma sonucunda, hemşirelerin mesleklerine yönelik açık tutumlarının örtük tutumlarından farklı olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır. Yani, hemşirelerin açık tutumlarında mesleklerine yönelik olumlu tutumlarının olduğu, örtük tutumlarında ise mesleğe yönelik olumsuz örtük tutumlarının olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Araştırmada beklenilenin aksine hemşirelerin mesleklerine yönelik olumsuz örtük tutumları ile dışsal yaşam amaçları arasında herhangi bir ilişkinin olmadığı ortaya çıkmıştır. Ayrıca, hemşirelerin mesleklerine yönelik olumsuz örtük tutumları ile başarı ve düşünme ihtiyacı arasında olumlu yönde anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu görülmüştür. Mesleğe yönelik olumsuz örtük tutumla iş doyumun ücret boyutu arasında ise olumsuz yönde anlamlı bir ilişkinin olduğu bulunmuştur. Bu bulgular doğrultusunda Örtük Çağrışım Testinin bireyin meslek ve personel seçimi aşamasında seçici bir özellik taşıyabileceği düşünülmektedir. The fact that the explicit and implicit attitudes are different in attitude research has led researchers to use implicit measurement methods. In studies conducted with implicit measurements, unlike the explicit measurements, it is possible to reveal the behavior of individuals beyond their awareness and control. Implicit attitudes can be learnt by the experiences and can direct the individual's preferences and behaviors without being aware of them. It is important that implicit attitudes affecting the preferences and behaviors of individuals are used in organizational research. There are no studies in literature dealing with the implicit attitude of nurses to their profession. For this reason, determining the implicit attitudes towards the nursing profession and examining the relation of implicit attitudes towards nursing profession with different variables constitute the aim of the study. In the study, the laboratory environment was formed and the first measurement was applied after the implicit association test. The data were analyzed by using SPSS 22.0 package program. The results of this study reveal that the explicit attitudes of nurses towards their profession were different from the implicit attitudes. In other words, it is determined that nurses have positive attitudes towards their profession in their explicit attitudes, and that they have negative implicit attitudes towards the profession in implicit attitudes. Contrary to what is expected in the study, it is revealed that there is no relationship between the negative implicit attitudes of nurses towards their profession and their external life goals. Also, it was observed that there was a positive significant relationship between the nurses' negative implicit attitudes towards their profession and the need for achievement and cognition. It was found that there was a negative correlation between the negative implicit attitude towards the profession and the wage dimension of job satisfaction. According to these findings, Implicit Association Test may be selective in the occupation and personnel selection stage of the individual.
