Haçlı Seferleri, tüm dünyayı etkileyen askeri bir harekât olmakla birlikte Batı'nın Doğu'ya başlattığı, yüzyıllarca süren bir yıkımdır. Türkler 1071 Malazgirt zaferiyle birlikte Anadolu'ya yerleşmeye başlamış ve burasını kendi vatanları olarak benimsemişlerdir. Artık yıkılmaya yüz tutmuş Bizans Devleti ise bu Türk akınlarını durdurmaya gücü yetmemiş ve Batıdan yardım istemiştir. Böylece Doğu Dünyasında büyük yıkımlara, felaketlere ve katliamlara sebep olacak Haçlı seferleri başlamıştır. Şimdiye kadar Haçlılar ile ilgili yapılan araştırmalarda genellikle Ortadoğu dünyası göz önünde bulundurulmuş Türkiye Selçuklu Devleti'nin, Seferler esnasındaki rolü maalesef pek fazla dikkate alınmamıştır. Ancak özellikle ilk dört Haçlı Seferinde, Türkiye Selçuklu Devleti en çok etkilenen devlet olmuş diğer haçlı seferlerini ise dolaylı olarak etkilemiştir. İlk üç Haçlı Seferi'nin Anadolu'dan geçmesi, buraya henüz yerleşmeye başlayan Türkleri hem sosyal hem de ekonomik açıdan ciddi zararlara sokmuştur. Biz bu tezimizde Türkiye Selçuklu Devleti'nin Haçlı Seferleri esnasında sadece siyasi olarak değil sosyal ve ekonomik olarak da etkilendiğini belirtmeye çalıştık. Haçlı Seferleri her ne kadar dini bir kaygı ile başlamış gibi görünse de Doğunun zenginliklerine sahip olmak isteyen Haçlılar, Anadolu, Filistin ve Mısır topraklarında kurdukları devletlerle siyasi ve ticari faaliyetlerde etkili roller oynamışlardır. Dolayısıyla bu tezimizde Anadolu topraklarından geçen ve burada devletler kuran Haçlılara karşı Türkiye Selçuklu Devleti'nin mücadelesi ile Türk halkının sosyal ve ekonomik durumunu ele almaya çalıştık. Althoug the Crusades were a military operation affecting the whole World; it was a total destruction started from West to East that lasted for centruis. The Turks Started to settlr in Asia Minor (Anatolia) after the victory at Battle of Manzikert (Malazgirt) in 1071 and adopted it as yheir homeland. The Byzantine State, at the edge of her collapse was unable to stop Turkish raids and requested aid from its allies in the West. This invitation launched the Crusades, which would cause great destruction, disasters and massacres in the Eastern World. In most of the researches done about The Crusaders generally minded around the Middle East. It is unfortunate that the Anatolian Seljuk Empire's role during these expeditions has been mainly disregarded. However, especially during the first four Crusades: Anatolian Seljuk Empire was affected the most and indirectly influenced other Crusades. The passing of the first three Crusades through Anatolia has caused serious social and economic harm to theTurks who have just started settling here. In this thesis ve tried to emphasize the social and economic impacts of the Crusades on Anatolian Seljuk Empire rather than its political aspect. Even though the Crusades seem to have started with religous concerns, the Crusades, who wanted to have the wealth of the east, played effective roles in political and commercial activities with the states they established in Anatolia, Palestine and Egypt. Anatolian Seljuk Empire was also affected by these political and commercial activities and entered into a phase of everlasting war. Therefore in this thesis you will find the Anatolian Seljuk Empire's struggle and its subjects' social and economic status in respect to the Crusaders that passing thru and establishing new states in their land.
