Dünya nüfusunun hızla artması, teknolojik ve ekonomik gelişmeler ve yükselen refah düzeyi neticesinde tüm dünyada olduğu gibi ülkemizde de araç sayısı çoğalmış ve otopark alanlarına olan ihtiyaç artmıştır. Kentlerdeki artan otopark ihtiyacı otopark tasarımının önemini ön plana çıkarmakla birlikte, ülkemizde otopark alanlarının peyzaj tasarımı ile ilişkisini ortaya koymaya yönelik sınırlı sayıda araştırma bulunmaktadır. Bu nedenle bu çalışma, üniversite yerleşkelerindeki otopark alanlarının kullanıcı tercihleri ve ekolojik prensipler doğrultusunda tasarımını Süleyman Demirel Üniversitesi örneğinde ortaya koymayı amaçlamaktadır. Araştırmanın yöntemini alanın fiziksel analizi ve yerleşke kullanıcıları ile yapılan bir anket çalışması oluşturmaktadır. Bu kapsamda, öncelikle yerleşkedeki her bir otoparkın mevcut durumu peyzaj tasarım kriterleri açısından incelenmiş ve bu alanlar ile ilgili sorunlar ve eksiklikler ortaya konulmuştur. Daha sonra üniversite yerleşkesini kullanan insanların otoparklar ile ilgili kullanım alışkanlıkları ile tercih ve beklentilerini belirlemek amacıyla üniversitede görev yapan akademik ve idari personel arasında kapsamlı bir anket çalışması gerçekleştirilmiştir. Elde edilen bulgular doğrultusunda, üniversite yerleşkesindeki otoparklar için insanların kullanım tercihlerini ve ekolojik tasarım prensiplerini ön plana alan tasarım önerileri geliştirilmiştir. The rapid increase in the world population, technological and economic developments and the consequent rising welfare level in human life, the need for parking spaces has been increased in line with the increasing number of vehicles in our country as well as in all over the world. Although the increasing car park needs in urban areas brings the importance of car park design into prominence, there are limited numbers of research on the relationships between car parks and landscape design in our country. Therefore, this study aims to reveal the design of car parks in university campuses in accordance with user preferences and ecological principles in the case of Süleyman Demirel University. The methods of the research are consisted of physical analysis of the campus site and a questionnaire survey carried out among campus users. In this context, the existing situation of each car park in the campus was evaluated in terms of landscape design principles and problems related to these areas were first determined. Then a questionnaire survey was carried out among academic and administrative personal working in the university campus in order to determine their use patterns, preferences and expectations about campus car parks. In the lights of the findings, design proposals considering the user preferences and ecological design approaches were developed for car parks of the university campus. It is expected that the results of the study will contribute to administrators of Süleyman Demirel University as well as individuals and bodies responsible for car parks in urban areas.
