Son yüzyılda dünyada meydana gelen sosyal ve ekonomik gelişmeler insanların çalışma şartlarının iyileştirilmesini ön plana çıkarmaktadır. İnşaat sektörü, artan nüfus ile birlikte insanların ihtiyaçlarını karşılamak için hızla gelişmektedir. Bu gelişimle oluşturduğu katma değer ve istihdam açısından ülke ekonomilerinin en önemli sektörlerinden biri haline gelmiştir. İstihdamın artması her projenin birbirinden farklı olması ve farklı iş kollarının bir arada çalışmak zorunda olması gibi nedenlerle son yıllarda yaşanan iş kazalarının önemli bir oranı inşaat sektörlerinde meydana gelmiştir. İş kazaları sonucu oluşan ölüm ve yaralanmalar iş sağlığı ve güvenliğini bu sektörde ön plana çıkarmıştır. Bu tez çalışmasında, iş sağlığı ve güvenliği eğitimlerinin inşaat sektöründe çalışanlar üzerindeki etkisini ve önemini belirlemek üzere anket araştırmasıyla inşaat sektöründe yaşanan kazalar ile bu kazaları yaşayan kişiler hakkında eğitim, sağlık, yaş grubu, tecrübe ve çalışanların iş güvenliği bilgileri değerlendirilmiştir. Anket sonuçlarının analiziyle, çalışmada elde edilen demografik ve sosyokültürel özellikleri ile iş kazaları arasında bulunan ampirik bulgular değerlendirilerek kazaları önceden önlemek için gereken tedbirlerin alınmasını sağlamaktır. Aynı zamanda iş sağlığı ve güvenliği bilincinin oluşturulabilmesi için eğitimin önemini vurgulamak amacıyla iş sağlığı güvenliği eğitimi baz alınarak SPSS programıyla çapraz tablolar oluşturulmuştur. İş sağlığı ve güvenliği eğitim seviyesinin artırılmasıyla iş kazaları ve hastalıkları en az seviyeye indirilerek çalışanların sağlıkları ve Ülke ekonomisine kazaların getirdiği mali yükler azaltılmış olacaktır. The social and economic developments that have occurred in the last century point to the need to improve working conditions. The construction sector is rapidly developing to meet the needs of the ever-growing population and has thus become one of the most significant sectors of national economies in terms of added value and employment. There is a significantly high rate of occupational accidents in the construction sector, for different reasons such as the increase in the employment rate in this sector, the differences between every project, and the necessity for different occupational branches to work collaboratively. The injuries and deaths resulting from occupational accidents have brought attention to the issue of occupational health and safety in this sector. This study evaluated occupational accidents in the construction sector and assessed victims' educational and health status, age group, experience, and knowledge of occupational safety through questionnaires administered to determine the effect and significance of occupational health and safety training for employees in the construction sector. In addition, this study analyzed the questionnaire results, evaluated the empirical findings obtained after the analysis of demographic and sociocultural characteristics and occupational accidents, and aimed to ensure that necessaryprecautions for preventing such accidents are taken. In addition, crosstabs were created based on occupational health and safety training using the SPSS program to indicate the importance of training for raising employees' awareness of occupational health and safety issues. When employees' awareness of occupational safety is raised, the rate of occupational accidents and diseases will be minimized, and their economic burden on employees and the national economy will be reduced.
