Tez çalışması 7 fazda gerçekleştirilmiştir. Tez çalışmasının ilk fazında, Isparta Organize Sanayi Bölgesi (OSB) arıtma tesisi girişinden alınan numunelerde, FilmTec NF90 ve FilmTec BW30LE polimerik membranları kullanarak lab-ölçek polimerik membran performans testleri gerçekleştirilmiştir. Her iki membran için de giderim verimleri ortalama %98 civarında elde edilmiştir. İkinci fazda, Isparta OSB arıtma tesisi girişinden alınan numunelerde, Filtanium 10 kDa ham seramik membran (HSM) ile performans testleri gerçekleştirilmiştir. Tez kapsamındaki tüm membran testlerinde, planlanan test matrisi ile işletme basıncı, pH ve besleme bakır konsantrasyonu değişkenlerinin süzüntü akısı ve bakır giderimi üzerine etkileri incelenmiştir. pH 4'teki deneylerin sonucunda %8-57 aralığında, orijinal pH seviyelerinde ise %17-65 aralığında bakır giderimleri elde edilmiştir. Ticari seramik membranların ayırım spektrumu göz önüne alındığında çok yüksek bakır giderimleri beklenilmemektedir. Bu bağlamda, üçüncü faz dahilinde seramik membranların bakır giderimini arttırmak adına kaplama yolu ile fiziko-kimyasal modifikasyon gerçekleştirilip, HSM ve kaplanmış seramik membrana (KSM) detaylı karakterizasyonları yapılmıştır. Üçüncü fazda, HSM'ye belirlenen kaplama prosedürü ile kaplama gerçekleştirilmiştir. Aktif yüzey SEM görüntülerinde membran yüzeyine kaplanan silika partikülleri açıkça görünmektedir. EDX taraması ile HSM'de %0,54 olan Si, KSM'de %21,05'e çıkmıştır. Optik profilometreyle yapılan analiz sonuçlarına göre KSM'nin yüzey pürüzlülüğü HSM'den 2 kat fazla çıkmıştır. Yüzey pürüzlülüğünün artması membran yüzey alanın artarak daha fazla adsorpsiyon gerçekleştirmesini sağlamaktadır. Yüzey temas açısı analizlerinde KSM'ın hidrofobikleştiği görülmektedir. Hidrofobikleşen membranın direncinin artması, silika partikülleriyle porları daralıp akısı düşen membranın akı kaybına ilave mekanizma oluşturmaktadır. Dördüncü fazda, Isparta OSB arıtma tesisi girişinden alınan numunelerde, KSM ile, bakır giderim performans testleri gerçekleştirilmiştir. KSM ile endüstriyel atıksulardan bakır giderimi çalışmaları neticesinde %32-%82 aralığında bakır giderimi elde edilmiştir. İşletim koşullarına bağlı olarak HSM ile kıyaslandığında KSM'de ortalama %49 oranında daha fazla bakır giderimi olduğu bulunmuştur. Yüksek konsantrasyonda bakır içeren numunelerdeki giderim artışı oranı başarılı olsa da membran yüzeyine kaplama ile kazandırılan adsorpsiyon alanlarının dolması sonucu, en düşük konsantrasyondaki kadar verim alınamamıştır. Beşinci faz, "bakır geri kazanımı amacıyla konsantre akımların arıtılmasında seramik membran prosesi uygulaması" başlığı altında değerlendirilmiştir. Bu amaçla, polimerik membran testleri sonucunda elde edilen konsantre akımlar özellikle bakır içeriği yönünden arıtılmaya çalışılmıştır. Polimerik membran test ünitesinin %75 ve %90 recovery oranlarına sahip konsantre akımı ve model konsantre akım ayrı ayrı seramik membran test ünitesinin besleme tankına verilmiştir. Model çözelti ile yapılan deneylerde elde edilen giderimler %18-34 aralığında değişirken, endüstriyel atıksu ile yapılan deneylerde %54-98 aralığında değişmektedir. Bu durum geri plan su kimyasının giderim verimliliği üzerindeki etkisine örnek olacak niteliktedir. Altıncı fazda, yapılan deneylerden sonra KSM'nin temizlenebilmesi için rejenerasyon metodunun geliştirilmiştir. Geliştirilen rejenerasyon metoduna göre, kaplamanın aşınma morfolojisi incelenmiş ve rejenerasyon kapasitesi belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Rejenerasyon için endüstriyel atıksulardan KSM ile bakır giderim çalışmalarında 0,1 M EDTA, konsantre arıtımı çalışmalarında 0,2 M EDTA çözeltisi kullanılmış ve rejenerasyon sonrası kaplanmış membranlardaki akı ve giderim bağlamındaki değişimler açıklanmaya çalışılmıştır. Endüstriyel atıksu ile yapılan KSM deneyleri sonrası, rejenerasyon sırasında rejeneranttan alınan numunelerde ICP-MS analiziyle yapılan ölçümler sonucunda, rejenerantlardaki bakır miktarları, KSM deneylerinde 26,84-33,73 mg/L aralığında, MKA ortalama 12 mg/L, EKA deneylerinde ise ortalama 16 mg/L olarak elde edilmiştir. Yedinci ve son fazda ise, beşinci fazda uygulanan deneyler sonucunda oluşan KSM rejenerasyon sularındaki bakır miktarları tespit edilerek, rejenerasyon sularında sementasyon prosesi ile bakır geri kazanımı çalışılmıştır. Planlanan test matrisi ile sıcaklık, karıştırma hızı ve stokiyometrik oranın sementasyon prosesi üzerine etkileri incelenmiştir. EDTA varlığında gerçekleştirilen sementasyon deneyleri sonucunda, %19-74 aralığında değişen sonuçlar elde edilmiştir. Deneyler sonucunda, sementasyon prosesinin etkin bir proses olarak kullanılabilmesi için optimum koşulların belirlenmesinin öneminin altı çizilmiştir. The thesis study was carried out in 7 phases. In the first phase of the thesis study, lab-scale polymeric membrane performance tests were performed by using FilmTec NF90 and FilmTec BW30LE polymeric membranes in samples taken from Isparta Organized Industrial Zone (OIZ) treatment plant entrance. For both membranes, removal efficiencies were obtained at an average of about 98%. In the second phase, performance tests were performed with Filtanium 10 kDa raw ceramic membrane (RCM) in the samples taken from the entrance of Isparta OIZ wastewater treatment plant. The effects of operating pressure, pH and feed copper concentration variables on the effluent flux and copper removal were investigated in all membrane tests. As a result of the experiments at pH 4, 8-57% copper removal in the range of 17-65% at the original pH levels was obtained. Considering the separation spectrum of commercial ceramic membranes, very high copper removal is not expected. In this context, in order to increase the copper removal of ceramic membranes within the third phase, physico-chemical modification was carried out by coating and detailed characterization of HSM and coated ceramic membrane (CCM) was made. In the third phase, the coating was performed to the RCM by the coating procedure. In active surface SEM images, the silica particles coated on the membrane surface are clearly visible. Si, which is 0.54% in RCM with EDX scanning, has increased to 21.05% in CCM. According to the results of the optical profilometer, the surface roughness of the CCM was 2 times higher than the RCM. Increased surface roughness increases the membrane surface area and provides more adsorption. It is observed that CCM is hydrophobic in surface contact angle analysis. The increase in the resistance of the hydrophobicizing membrane constitutes an additional mechanism for the flux loss of the membrane with the silica particles. In the fourth phase, copper removal performance tests were carried out with CCM in samples taken from the entrance of Isparta OIZ treatment plant. As a result of copper removal from industrial wastewater with CCM, copper removal from 32% to 82% was obtained. Based on operating conditions, it was found that there was an average of 49% more copper removal compared to CCM. Although the rate of removal increase in the samples containing high concentrations of copper was successful, the yield of the adsorption areas that were introduced with coating on the membrane surface could not be obtained as much as the lowest concentration. The fifth phase was evaluated under the title of "application of ceramic membrane process in the treatment of concentrate streams for the purpose of copper recovery". For this purpose, the concentrate streams obtained as a result of polymeric membrane tests have been tried to be treated especially in terms of copper content. The concentrate flow of the polymeric membrane test unit with 75% and 90% recovery rates and the model concentrate flow were separately fed to the feed tank of the ceramic membrane test unit. While the removals obtained in the experiments with the model solution vary in the range of 18-34%, it varies between 54-98% in industrial wastewater experiments. This would be an example for the impact of background water chemistry on removal efficiency. In the sixth phase, the regeneration method was developed to clean the CCM after the experiments. According to the regeneration method developed, the wear morphology of the coating is investigated and the regeneration capacity is tried to be determined. 0.1 M EDTA was used for copper removal from industrial wastewater with CCM applications for regeneration. 0.2 M EDTA solution was used in concentrate treatment experiments and the changes in flux and removal in coated membranes after regeneration were tried to be explained. After CCM tests performed with industrial wastewater, the amount of copper in the regenerants was measured as 26.84-33.73 mg in the CCM tests, 12 mg / L in the MCF tests and 16 mg/L in the ICF tests as a result of the measurements made by the ICP-MS analysis in the samples taken from the regenerator during the regeneration. In the seventh and last phase, the amount of copper in the CCM regeneration waters determined as a result of the experiments carried out in the fifth phase was determined, and the copper recovery was studied by the cementation process in the regeneration waters. The effects of temperature, mixing speed and stoichiometric ratio on cementation process were examined with the planned test matrix. As a result of the cementation experiments carried out in the presence of EDTA, results ranging from 19-74% were obtained. As a result of the experiments, the importance of determining optimum conditions for the use of cementation process as an effective process is underlined.
