Günümüzde rezonatör tabanlı soğurucu tasarımı popüler bir araştırma konusudur. Askeri ve sivil alanlarda olmak üzere çeşitli soğurucu uygulamaları literatürde yer almaktadır. Bu uygulamaların pek çoğunda soğurma oranı önemli bir yere sahiptir. Bu kapsamda mükemmel soğurucu tasarımlarından literatürde sıklıkla bahsedilmektedir. Bu çalışmalarda soğurucu yapılarının topolojileri ve geometrik parametreleri ayarlanarak maksimum seviyede soğurma elde edilmeye çalışılmaktadır. Bunun yanında literatürde dielektrik malzeme özellikleri değiştirilerek de soğurma oranının artırılmaya çalışıldığı çalışmalar yer almaktadır. Güncel literatüre göre, dielektrik malzeme kayıplarının soğurma oranına etkileri konusunda ortak bir vargı bulunmamaktadır. Bazı çalışmalarda dielektrik kayıpların artırılmasının soğurma oranını arttırdığı öne sürülürken, bazı çalışmalarda herhangi bir değişiklik olmadığı belirtilmekte, bazılarında ise soğurma oranını azalttığı ifade edilmektedir. Dielektrik malzeme kaybının soğurma oranına etkisi konusundaki belirsizlik, dielektrik malzeme kalınlığının soğurma oranına etkisi konusunda da bulunmaktadır. Dielektrik malzeme kalınlığının arttırılmasının kimi çalışmalarda soğurma oranını azalttığı görülürken, kimi çalışmalarda ise soğurma oranını arttırdığı görülmektedir. Bu tez kapsamında dielektrik malzeme kayıplarının ve kalınlığının soğurma oranına olan etkileri incelenmiştir. Elde edilen sonuçların, soğurucu çalışma frekansına ve rezonatör tipine bağlı olmadığını göstermek amacıyla S-bant, X-bant ve Terahertz bölgelerinde olmak üzere üç farklı frekans bölgesinde, metamalzeme tabanlı soğurucu olarak kapalı halka rezonatör (KHR) ve ayrık halka rezonatörleri (AHR) tasarlanmıştır. Çalışma frekansında KHR'de dipol rezonans görülürken, AHR'de LC rezonans görülmektedir. Elde edilen bulgular sonucunda, dielektrik malzeme kalınlığının arttırılmasının, soğurucu yapısı ile serbest uzay arasında empedans uyumu sağlandığı noktaya kadar soğurma oranını arttırdığı görülmektedir. Bu noktadan sonra tüm frekans bantlarında ve tüm rezonatör yapıları için soğurma oranını azalmaktadır. Benzetim sonuçları deneysel sonuçlarla desteklenmektedir. Benzer şekilde dielektrik malzeme kayıplarının artırılması ile soğurma oranının maksimum olduğu noktaya kadar arttığı, bu noktadan sonra azaldığı gözlenmiştir. Nowadays, resonator-based absorber design is a popular research topic. Various absorber applications including military and non-military are found in the literature. The absorption has an important place in the most of these applications. In this context, perfect absorber designs are frequently mentioned in the literature. In these studies, topologies and geometric parameters of absorber structures are adjusted and tried to obtain maximum absorption. In addition, there are studies in which the absorption is increased by adjusting the dielectric material properties in the literature. According to the current literature, there is no consensus on the effects of the dielectric material losses on the absorption. According to some studies increasing the dielectric losses increases the absorption, some studies say that it doesn't affect the absorption and others demonstrate that it reduces the absorption. The uncertainty about the effect of dielectric material loss on the absorption is also related to the effect of dielectric thickness on the absorption. It is seen that although increasing the dielectric material thickness decreases the absorption in some studies, it increases the absorption in other studies. In this thesis, the effects of dielectric material losses and thickness on the absorption are investigated. In order to show that the obtained results do not depend on the absorber operating frequency and resonator type; absorbers based on metamaterial, which are closed ring resonator (CRR) and split ring resonator (SRR), have designed in three different frequency regions in which S-band, X-band and Terahertz region. In the operating frequency, while dipole resonance is observed in CRR, LC resonance is observed in SRR. The results show that increasing the dielectric material thickness increased the absorption up to the point of impedance matching between the absorber and the free space. After this point it decreased absorption at all frequency bands and all resonator structures. Simulation results are supported by experiments. Similarly, it is observed that increasing the dielectric material losses increased the absorption up to the point where the absorption is maximum, after this point it reduced the absorption.
