Bu çalışmanın amacı, yüzme havuzu suyunda su kalitesi parametreleri, mutajenik, antibakteriyel ve Lipid oksidasyonu oluşumunda, klor, ozon, hidrojen peroksit ve bakır-gümüş iyonizasyonu gibi yaygın kullanılan dezenfeksiyon metotlarının yüzme havuzundaki etkisini incelemektir. Bahar aylarında dezenfeksiyon öncesi ve sonrasında havuz suyu örnekleri toplandı. Tüm su örneklerinde, kimyasal ve mikrobiyal parametreler olrak pH, toplam alkalinite, amonyum, nitrit, nitrat, hidrojen peroksit, alüminyum ve toplam E. Coli analizi yapıldı. Alkali comet analizi, kontrole göre farklı dezenfeksiyon yöntemleri ile işlem görmüş yüzme havuzu sularının genotoksik potansiyelini araştırmak için kullanılmıştır. Ayrıca, dezenfektan maruziyetinin insan eritrosit membranının Lipid oksidasyonu üzerindeki etkisi in vitro olarak incelenmiştir. Veriler, tüm dezenfekte edilmiş rekreasyon havuz suyu örneklerinin, kontrol suyundan daha fazla genomik DNA hasarı ve Lipid peroksidasyonuna neden olduğunu gösterdi. Dezenfektan tipi genotoksisiteyi ve suyun Lipid peroksidasyonunu değiştirmiştir. Ozonizasyonun genotoksik bir ajan olarak en zararlı dezenfeksiyon yöntemi olduğu görüldü. Öte yandan, MDA sonuçları, klorlama yönteminin diğerleri ile karşılaştırıldığında en yüksek Lipidleri okside edici ajan olduğunu göstermektedir. Sonuçlarımız, yüzmenin sağlık üzerindeki olumlu etkilerini korumak için uygun bir dezenfeksiyon yöntemi seçerek potansiyel olarak zararlı dezenfektan veya dezenfektan yan ürününün asgariye indirilmesinin önemini göstermektedir. Ancak, yüzme havuzu suyunun mikrobiyal kontaminasyonu nedeniyle enfeksiyon riskleri, yüzme havuzu yönetiminde hala temel halk sağlığı sorunu olarak düşünülmelidir. The aim of this study was to examine the influence of commonly used disinfectation metods of swimming pool, such as chlorine, ozone, hydrogen peroxide and copper-silver ionisation, on the formation of water quality parameter, mutagenic, antibacterial and Lipid oxidation in swimming pool water. Swimming pool water samples were collected before and after disinfection in spring. All water samples were analyzed for physicochemical and microbial parameters including pH, total alkalinity, ammonium, nitrite, nitrate, hydrogen peroxide, aluminium and total E. coli. The alkaline comet assay was used to investigate genotoxic potential of the swimming pool waters treated with different disinfection methods according to control. In addition, the effect of disinfectant exposure on Lipid oxidation of human eryhtrocyte membrane was studied in witro. The data demonstrated that all disinfected recreational pool water samples induced more genomic DNA damage and Lipid peroxidation than the control water. The type of disinfectant altered the genotoxicity and Lipid peroxidation of the water. The ozonization was exhibited to be the most harmfull disinfection method as a genotoxic agent. On the other hand, MDA results show that chlorination method is the highest Lipids oxidizing agent compared to others. Our results suggest the importance of minimizing potentially harmful disinfectant or disinfectant bypropduct by choosing a suitable disinfection method to maintain the positive health effects of swimming. However, the risks of infection due to microbial contamination of swimming pool water should still be considered the main public health problem in swimming pool management.
