Çalışmamızda yaşları 29-40 gebelik haftası arasında değişen, harici patolojisi ve anomalisi olmayan, 25 adet insan fetüsüne (13 dişi, 12 erkek) ait 47 üst ekstremitede musculus biceps brachii'nin morfometrik özelliklerinin araştırılması amaçlandı. Musculus biceps brachii'nin caput longum uzunluğu-genişliği, caput breve uzunluğu-genişliği, ortak karın uzunluğu-genişliği, motor sinirin kasa girdiği noktanın acromion'a uzaklığı, kol uzunluğu, lacertus fibrosus alanı, footprint uzunluğu ve distal tendon sayısı araştırılarak, m. biceps brachii'de görülen varyasyonlar incelendi. Distal tendon sayıları ve frekansları belirlendi. Belirlenen parametrelerin gestasyonel yaşa (ay) göre gelişimi belirlendi. Parametrelerde cinsiyetler ve taraflar arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı fark olup olmadığı araştırıldı. Motor sinir lokalizasyonunda ve motor sinir lokalizasyonunun kol uzunluğuna oranında sağ ve sol ekstremiteler arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı fark tespit edildi. Ayrıca caput longum genişliği/kol uzunluğu oranında da istatistiksel olarak anlamlı fark tespit edildi. Diğer parametrelerde sağ-sol ve cinsiyetler arasında anlamlı fark bulunmadı. Musculus biceps brachii'nin footprint uzunluğunda gestasyonel yaşa (ay) göre istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark olmadığı ve diğer parametrelerin gestasyonel yaşla pozitif korelasyon gösterdiği ancak motor sinir lokalizasyonunun kol uzunluğuna oranının gestasyonel yaşla negatif korelasyon gösterdiği tespit edildi. Musculus biceps brachii'nin anatomisinin iyi bilinmesi, onun lezyonlarının daha iyi anlaşılmasını sağlayabilir. Bu anlamda çalışmamızdan elde edilen verilerin, cerrahinin ve cerrahi sonrası tedavilerin daha kolay planlanmasını sağlayabileceğini ve dolayısıyla tedavinin başarı oranını artırabileceğini düşünmekteyiz.

The aim of this study was to investigate the morphometric properties of musculus biceps brachii in 47 upper extremities of 25 human fetuses (13 females, 12 males) with no external anomaly and pathology. The length and the width of the caput longum, the length and the width of the caput breve, the length and the width of the common venter, the distance between the acromion of the point where the motor nerve enters the common venter, the length of the arm, the area of the lacertus fibrosus, the length of the footprint and the number of distal tendons was investigated and variations were examined. Distal tendon numbers and frequencies determined. Development of parameters according to gestational age (month) was determined. Parameters was investigated whether there was a statistically significant difference between genders and laterality. A statistically significant difference was found between the right and left extremities in the motor nerve localization and the ratio of the motor nerve localization to the arm length. There was also a statistically significant difference in the caput longum width/arm length ratio. No significant difference was found between laterality and genders in other parameters. There was no statistically significant difference in the footprint length of biceps brachii muscle due to gestational age, however, other parameters were positively correlated with gestational age, but the ratio of motor nerve localization to arm length was negatively correlated with gestational age. A thorough knowledge of the anatomy of the biceps brachii muscle may enhance our understanding of its disorders. We believe that the data obtained from our study can provide easier planning of surgery and post-surgical treatments and thus increase the success rate of treatment.
