İçinde bulunduğumuz yüzyılda genetik mühendisliği, biyoteknolojik çalışmalar gibi yaşamımızda yer alan birçok gelişme meydana gelmiştir. Bu gelişmelerin hızla hayatımıza girmesiyle öğretim programlarında yer alan konular ve kavramların öğrencilere kazandırılması da gerekli olmuştur. Bu sebeple bu araştırmada, argümantasyon yönteminin 'genetik kopyalama' ünitesi kapsamında fen bilgisi öğretmen adaylarının akademik başarı ve tutumları üzerindeki etkilerinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaç çerçevesinde, Türkiye'de bir devlet üniversitesinin üçüncü sınıf öğrencilerinden, 17'si deney grubu ve 17'si kontrol grubunda olmak üzere 34 öğrenci ile araştırma yürütülmüştür. Araştırma 'Genetik ve Biyoteknoloji' dersi kapsamında genetik kopyalama ünitesinde, argümantasyon yönteminin akademik başarı ve tutuma karşı etkisi, yarı deneysel ön test, son test yöntemi ve Biyoteknoloji Tutum Ölçeği ile değerlendirilmiştir. Kontrol grubuna ünite, sunuş yolu ile öğretim tekniği kullanılarak, deney grubuna ise argümantasyon yöntemiyle anlatılmıştır. Araştırma sonuçları, uygulama öncesinde kontrol ve deney gruplarında bulunan öğrencilerin akademik başarıları arasında anlamlı bir farklılık olmadığını göstermektedir. Ancak uygulama sonrasında deney grubunun akademik başarı düzeyinin, kontrol grubuna göre anlamlı biçimde yüksek olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bir diğer ifade ile argümantasyon yöntemine dayalı öğrenme tekniği uygulanan öğretmen adaylarının akademik başarı testi ortalaması (23,38) uygulanmayan öğretmen adaylarının akademik başarı testi ortalamasından (20,21) yüksek olduğu ve bu farkın istatistiksel olarak anlamlı olduğu belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca bu modeli tanımlayan ANCOVA analizinin anlamlı olduğu görülmektedir (F(2,31)=4,665, p=0.017). Bunun yanında uygulama öncesinde kontrol grubunun tutumu, deney grubunun tutumuna göre artış gösterdiği tespit edilmiş; uygulama sonrasında ise tutum kapsamında bir farklılık olmadığı ortaya konulmuştur. In the present century, there have been many developments in our lives such as genetic engineering and biotechnological studies. As these developments entered into our lives rapidly, it was necessary to acquire the subjects and concepts in the curriculum. Therefore, in this study, it is aimed to determine the effects of the argumentation method on the academic achievement and attitudes of prospective science teachers within the scope of kopyalama genetic copying 'unit. For this purpose, a third-grade students from state universities in Turkey, research has been conducted with 34 students, including 17 in the experimental group and 17 in the control group. In this study, the effect of argumentation method against academic achievement and attitude was evaluated with quasi-experimental pre-test, post-test method and Biotechnology Attitude Scale. The unit was explained to the control group using the teaching technique by presentation and the argumentation method to the experimental group. The results of the research show that there is no significant difference between the academic achievement of the students in the control and experimental groups before the application. However, the academic achievement level of the experimental group was found to be significantly higher than the control group. In other words, it was determined that the pre-service teachers' academic achievement test average (23.38) was not higher than the academic achievement test average (20.21) and that this difference was statistically significant. In addition, ANCOVA analysis describing this model appears to be significant (F (2,31)=4.665, p=0.017). In addition, it was determined that the attitude of the control group increased compared to the attitude of the experimental group before the application; After the application, no difference was found in the attitude.
