Bu tez çalışmasında ekoloji, ekosistem, sürdürülebilirlik, ekolojik planlama ve kentsel ekoloji kavramları detaylı bir şekilde ele alınarak kent planlama ile ilişkileri değerlendirilmiş, daha sonra da Denizli bu kapsam çerçevesinde irdelenmiştir. Çalışmanın konusunu oluşturan ekolojik planlama paradigmasının iyi anlaşılabilmesi için ilk önce ekoloji, ekosistem, kentsel ekosistem, sürdürülebilirlik, kent, planlama, kavramları açıklanmış daha sonra bu kavramların arasındaki ilişki üzerinde durulmuştur. Kentsel ekoloji kavramında kullanılan yöntemler ve kentsel ekolojiyi oluşturan ögeler ve aralarındaki ilişki ele alınmıştır. Ekolojik planlama kavramı da geniş çerçevede ele alınmış; amacı, kapsamı, kullanılan yöntemler, tarihsel süreç içinde gelişimi aktarılmıştır. Özellikle ekolojik kent planlama üzerinde durularak planlama hiyerarşisi içinde ekolojik planlamanın önemi vurgulanmıştır. Bir çözüm önerisi olan ekolojik planlama paradigması çevre sorunlarının daha açığa çıkmadan önlem alabilmek için sunulmuştur ve bu yüzden çevre sorunları detaylı bir şekilde ele alınmıştır. ÇED kavramı detaylı olarak aktarılmaya çalışılarak planlama ve plancı ile arasındaki ilişkiye değinilmiştir. Denizli, ele alınan konu kapsamında detaylı olarak irdelenmiş, ekolojik planlama için gerekli olan doğal/fiziki, sosyo/ekonomik özellikleri ve doğal/ekolojik değerleri ortaya konmaya çalışılmıştır. Kentin planlama süreci ve gelişimi incelenerek, zamanla birlikte kentin nasıl yönlendiği ve yönelim sırasında hangi çevresel ve fiziksel sorunların ortaya çıktığına değinilmiştir. Gerekli önlemlerin planlama sırasında ve sonrasında alınamamasından ve halkın bilinçli olmamasından dolayı ortaya çıkan çevresel sorunlarının üzerinde durulmuştur. In this thesis, the concepts of ecology, ecosystem, sustainability, ecological planning and urban ecology have been discussed in detail and their relations with urban planning have been evaluated and then Denizli has been examined within this scope. In order to understand the ecological planning paradigm which is the subject of the study, firstly, the concepts of ecology, ecosystem, urban ecosystem, sustainability, city, planning are explained and then the relationship between these concepts is discussed. The methods used in the concept of urban ecology and the elements that make up the urban ecology and the relationship between them are explained. The concept of ecological planning has also been handled in a wide range; purpose, scope, methods used, the development of the historical process has been transferred. The importance of ecological planning within the planning hierarchy was emphasized with particular emphasis on ecological urban planning. The ecological planning paradigm, which is a solution proposal, has been presented in order to take precautions before the environmental problems are revealed and therefore environmental problems have been discussed in detail. The concept of EIA is explained in detail and the relationship between planning and planner is mentioned. Denizli has been examined in detail within the scope of the subject, and the natural / physical, socio / economic characteristics and natural / ecological values required for ecological planning concepts have been tried to be revealed. The planning process and the development of the city are examined and how the city is directed along with the time and which environmental and physical problems arise during the orientation are mentioned. The environmental problems arising from the lack of awareness of the public and the inability to take the necessary measures both during and after the planning are emphasized.
