İbn-i Sa'd'ın et Tabakâtı, İslam kültür tarihinde tabakât kitaplarının ilkidir. Diğer tabakât eserleri arasında kapsamı ve özgünlüğü ile öne çıkan bir eserdir. Yaptığımız bu tez çalışmasında, İslam Tarihi kaynaklarında çok önemli bir yere sahip olan İbn-i Sa'd'ın et-Tabakât kitabında yer alan Hz. Peygamber (s.a.v) döneminde yaşamış sahabîlerden; soyu kesilmiş, nesli devam etmemiş kişiler tespit edildi. Tespit edilen 285 sahabînin hayatları hakkında, bilgiler verilmeye çalışıldı. Araştırmanın birinci bölümünde, sahabîler hakkında genel bilgiler; sahabînin tanımı, kıymet ve önemi, sahabîler hakkında inen Ayetler ve tefsirlerde geçen yorumları, sahabîler hakkındaki Hadisler ve şerhleri, sahabîleri tanıma yolları, fazileti, sahabîlerin tabakatı, müctehit sahabîler, râvi olan sahabîler, en çok Hadis rivayet eden sahabîler, tabakât kitapları, tabakat kitaplarının özellikleri ve İbn-i Sa'd'ın et-Tabakâtü'l-Kebir kitabı hakkında bilgiler verildi. İkinci bölümde ise; nesli devam etmeyen sahabîler; Hz. Peygamber'in vefatından önce savaşta ölen sahâbiler, Hz. Peygamber'in vefatından önce eceliyle ölen sahabîler, Hz. Peygamber'in vefatından sonra savaşta ölen sahâbiler, Hz. Peygamber'in vefatından sonra eceliyle ölen sahabîler ve vefat tarihi belli olmayan sahabîler diye 5 kategoriye ayrıldı. Peygamber Efendimiz'in (s.a.v) vefatından önce ve vefatından sonra şehit olan sahabîlerin, canlarını verdikleri savaşlar hakkında da özet bilgiler verildi. Ibn-i Sa'd's et-Tabakât is the first of tabakat books in the history of Islamic culture. It is a work that stands out with its scope and originality among other tabakat books. In this thesis, non-extinct people were identified from sahabis lived in the period of Hz. Prophet (s.a.v) in Ibn Sa'd's et-Tabakât book, which has a very important place in the sources of Islamic History. It was tried to give information about the lives of the 285 sahabis identified. In the first part of the research, informations were given about general information about the owners; The definition, value and importance of sahabis, descending verses and commentaries about sahabis, the Hadiths and commentaries about sahabis, the ways of recognizing sahabis, the virtue of sahabis, the Companions of sahabis, muctehid sahabis, narrator sahabis, sahabis narrating the most Hadith, characteristics of tabakat books and Ibn Sa'd's book of et-Tabakâtü'l-Kebir. In the second part; categories divided 5 in to non-extant companions; sahabis who died in the war before the death of the Prophet, sahabis who died with the death before the death of the Prophet, sahabis who died in the war after the death of the Prophet, sahabis who died after the death of Prophet Muhammad and sahabis who their death dates are unknown. Brief information was given about war that sahabis died in to, before and after the death of the Prophet (s.a.v.).
