Ekonomik krizler tarih boyunca sadece ekonomik sistemleri etkisi altına almakla kalmamış aynı zamanda toplumun her kesimine etki etmiştir. İşçilerden öğrencilere, suç oranlarından yoksulluğa, aile hayatından gelir dağılımına kadar birçok sosyoekonomik olgu krizlerden etkilenmiştir. Bu çalışmada; tüm bu sosyoekonomik etkileri tek tek incelemek mümkün olmasa da, krizlerin işsizlik, suç ve intihar kavramları üzerine etkisi incelenmiştir. Granger nedensellik analizi yardımıyla yapılmış olan çalışma sonucunda, ekonomik kriz ve işsizlik arasında negatif yönlü bir nedensellik ilişkisi bulunmuştur. Literatürde bulunan birçok çalışmayı destekleyen bu bulgu, istihdamsız büyüme olgusu ile bağdaştırılmıştır. İşsizlik değişkeni, intihar değişkeninin Granger nedenidir hipotezi ise yapılan analiz ile doğrulanmıştır. Suç olgusunun, işsizlik üzerinden yansıyarak etki ettiği yönündeki hipotez doğrulanamamış olsa da, ekonomik krizler ile pozitif yönlü bir nedensellik ilişkisi ortaya çıkmıştır. Türkiye İstatistik Kurumu tarafından sağlanan verilerin yetersizliği ve yapılan diğer çalışmaların güncel olmasından kaynaklı olarak yoksulluk verisine ulaşılamamıştır. Bu durum çalışma kısıtı olarak kabul edilmiştir. Bu çalışmaya benzer bir çalışma yapacak araştırmacıların, yoksulluk verisine ulaşmaları ya da türetmeleri durumunda, analizin daha ideal sonuçlar vermesi beklenmektedir. Throughout history, economic crises have not only affected economic systems but also affected all sections of society. Many socioeconomic phenomena, from workers to students, from crime rates to poverty, from family life to income distribution, have been affected by crises. In this study, although it is not possible to examine all these socioeconomic effects individually, the impact of crises on the concepts of unemployment, crime and suicide was examined. As a result of the study conducted with the help of Granger Causality Analysis, a negative causality relationship was found between economic crisis and unemployment. This finding, which supports many studies in the literature, has been associated with the phenomenon of jobless growth. The hypothesis that the unemployment variable is the Granger cause of the suicide variable has been confirmed by the analysis. Although the hypothesis that the phenomenon of crime is reflected through unemployment has not been confirmed, a positive causality relationship has emerged with the economic crises. Due to the lack of data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute and the fact that other studies are up to date, poverty data could not be reached. This condition is considered a working constraint. Researchers who will conduct a similar study are expected to provide more ideal results if they reach or derive poverty data.
