Kentsel çevre; bir toplumun geleneksel kültürel zenginliği ve çağın getirilerinin harmanlandığı yaşam alanı, kentsel estetik; ise bu harmanın algılanışı sonucunda oluşan bir olgudur. İnsan ve çevre arasındaki etkileşim de algılamayı gerektirmektedir. Algı "çevre hakkında bilgi toplama, örgütleme ve anlama" şeklinde tanımlanmaktadır. Bu tanımların yanında bireyin geçmiş deneyimleri, sosyal ve kültürel yapısı da algı üzerinde etki sahibidir. Kentsel çevrelerin biçimsel estetik kaygısı disiplinler arası bir tartışma konusudur. Estetik değerin ölçülmesi ve tercihlerin belirlenmesinde toplum algısının irdelenmesi kentsel estetik konusu içerisinde önemli bir yere sahiptir. Isparta kent estetiğini temel alan bu çalışmanın amacı, insan algısına dayalı değişen estetik değerleri ve kentsel ortamlardaki özelliklerini peyzaj mimarlığı disiplinine göre değerlendirmektir. Bu bağlamda, kent estetiği konusu, okunabilirlik, erişilebilirlik, tutarlılık, çeşitlilik ve imgelenebilirlik parametreleri doğrultusunda hazırlanan 20 soruluk anket çalışmasıyla kentin günlük kullanıcılarından oluşan 410 kişilik katılımcı ile irdelenmiştir. Ayrıca çalışma alanı olan kent merkezinde gözleme dayalı analiz yapılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda Isparta ili kent estetik algısının peyzaj mimarisi yönünden; seçilen modern objelerin, kentin tarihsel dokusuyla uyumunun olmadığı; fakat yeşil alanların dengeli bulunup estetik algısına pozitif yansıdığı, kentin tarihsel dokusunun tam manasıyla yansıtılamadığı ve kent kimliğine uygun tasarımlar yapılamadığı sonucu ile orta düzeyde bir estetiğe sahip olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Isparta ili kent tasarımının estetik yönden güçlü olabilmesi için kentsel tasarım sürecinin iyi değerlendirilip, kentlilerin estetik algılarını ölçmek ve gerekli durumlarda yetkili tasarım disiplinleri ile tartışılıp, değerlendirildikten sonra tasarımların uygulanması gerektiği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Böylece tek düzelikten kurtulup kent kültürüne uygun, sürdürülebilir, nitelikli ve kimliği olan kentlerin gelecek kuşaklara kazandırılması mümkün olacaktır. The urban environment comes into a living space with the traditional cultural wealth of a society and the returns of the age, as to the urban aesthetics is the state of affairs that results of the perception of these mergences. Also the interaction of human and environment requires perception. The Perception is defined as reconing of the area, reorganizing and analysing. Besides these definitions, the individuals' experiences, social and cultural structure also have an impact on perception. The stylistic concern of the urban aesthetics is a subject of interdisciplinary discussion. In urban aesthetics, measuring aesthetic values and examining the perception of society, has an important place. The aim of this study, which is based on the urban aesthetics of Isparta according to landscape architecture, is to evaluate the aesthetic values depends on human perception and their characteristics. In this sense, the issue of urban aesthetics was examined with a survey, 20 questions, prepared in line with the parameters of readability, accessibility, consistency, diversity and imaginability, by 410 participants who are daily users of the city. In addition, observational analysis was conducted in the city center, which is the study area. As a result of the research, the urban aesthetic perception of Isparta province in terms of landscape architecture, the existing modern objects do not harmonize with the historical fabric of the city so the historical texture could not be fully reflected. In addition that designs were not fit the identity of the city but the green area was found to be balanced by participants and positively reflected to the urban aesthetic perception. It seems that; in order to make design of the urban aesthetically strong, the appropriateness of the design is well evaluated, by measuring the aesthetic perceptions of the citizens and discussed with detailed competent design disciplines, then after the evaluation, the necessity of the designs emerged. Thus, it might be possible to hand down the cities which avoid vapidity, fit with culture, sustainable, qualified, and have an identity, for next generation.
