Bu araştırmada, Isparta kent merkezinde yer alan Kafeler Caddesi'nin yayalaştırılmasının peyzaj mimarlığı açısından incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmanın amacı yayalaştırılmış bölge olan Kafeler Caddesi'nde planlama ve tasarımın ne derecede başarılı olduğu, bu yaya bölgesinin kentsel planlama ile ilişkili olarak öneminin belirlenmesidir. Araştırma alanınını çevresine etkilerinin araştırılarak, tercih edilme nedenleri, kullanım amaçları, kullanıcıların ihtiyaçlarına ne derecede cevap verebildiği, bu yaya bölgesini kullanan insanların karşılaşmış olduğu temel sorunlar ve planlamasından kaynaklanan genel eksikliklerin belirlenerek, yaya yolu (kaldırım) ve taşıt yolu arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesiyle yaya aksı üzerindeki perakende ticaret mekânlarına etkisinin belirlenmesi olarak özetlenebilir. ''Yaya'', "Yaya Yolu", "Yaya Bölgeleri", "Yaya Trafiği" kavramları irdelenerek yaya bölgelerinin tarihsel gelişimi, yayalaştırmanın kent için gerekliliği ve önemi vurgulanmış; kentsel planlama ve kentsel tasarımına dair genel ilkeler incelenmiş; yurtiçi ve yurtdışında uygulanmış önemli yaya bölgeleri araştırılarak olumlu ve olumsuz özellikleri incelenerek, örnekler verilmiştir. Araştırma alanı olarak seçilen Kafeler Caddesi'nde, kullanıcı özelliklerinin ve eğilimlerinin belirlenebilmesi, güncel kullanımlarının ve de yayalaştırma uygulaması hakkındaki görüşlerinin saptanması amacıyla da yaya bölgesi kullanıcıları ve işyeri sahipleri ile iki farklı anket çalışması uygulanmıştır. 5'li likert ölçeğiyle hazırlanmış anketler kullanılmıştır. Kullanıcıların algı, memnuniyet, beklenti ve istekleri belirlenmeye çalışılmış, elde edilen veriler SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Science) programı yardımıyla yorumlanmıştır. Elde edilen veriler ışığında araştırma alanının sorunları irdelenmiş ve bu sorunlara yönelik çözüm önerileri sunulmaya çalışılmıştır. In this study, it is aimed to examine the pedestrianization of Kafeler Caddesi in Isparta city center in terms of landscape architecture. The aim of this study is to emphasize the importance of planning and design in the pedestrianized Kafeler Caddesi, the importance of this pedestrian zone in relation to urban planning, to investigate the effects on the environment, the reasons for preference, the purposes of use, to what extent they can meet their needs can be summarized as the identification of the main problems faced by people using these pedestrian zones and the general deficiencies arising from their planning. 'Pedestrian, "Pedestrian Road", "Pedestrian Zones" and "Pedestrian Traffic" were examined and the historical development of pedestrian zones and the necessity and importance of pedestrianization for the city were emphasized. general principles of urban planning and urban design were determined; important pedestrian zones applied at home and abroad were investigated and their positive and negative characteristics were examined and examples were given. Two different surveys were conducted with pedestrian zone users and workplace owners in order to determine the current usage of Cafes Street, which is selected as the research area, to determine the user characteristics and trends, to determine their views on pedestrianization. Surveys prepared with a 5-point Likert scale were used. Perceptions, satisfaction, expectations, and desires of the users were tried to be determined and the data obtained were interpreted with the help of SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Science) program. In light of the data obtained, the problems of the research areas were examined and solutions were proposed to these problems.
