Bu tez çalışmasında; tek silindirli, hava soğutmalı direkt enjeksiyonlu bir dizel motorun port etanol enjeksiyonu ile çift yakıt modunda çalışması sırasında silindir içi yanma, motor performansı ve egzoz emisyonlarının değişimi incelenmiştir. Çalışmada, dizel yakıtı yüksek basınçta silindir içine direkt olarak enjekte edilirken etanol yakıtı düşük basınçta emme supabının hemen arkasına püskürtülmüştür. Deneysel çalışmalar iki aşamada gerçekleştirilmiştir. Birinci aşamada, yanma analizlerin gerçekleştirileceği motor devir aralığı ve motor yükü tespit edilmiştir. İkinci aşamada deney motoru, tespit edilen motor devir aralığı (1400-1800 d/d) ve motor yükü (20 Nm) şartlarında; 30-60 °C aralığında değişen emme hava sıcaklığı, %15 egzoz gazı re-sirkülasyon (EGR) oranı ve %0-40 aralığındaki tork değişim oranlarında çalıştırılmıştır. Farklı motor çalışma şartlarında gerçekleştirilen deneysel çalışmalarda, motorun ardışık 50 çevrimi boyunca silindir içi basıncın krank açısına bağlı değişim verileri toplanmıştır. Elde edilen silindir içi basınç verileri kullanılarak, indike motor parametreleri (indike ortalama efektif basınç, indike motor gücü, torku ve özgül yakıt tüketimi) ve silindir içi yanma parametreleri (ısı yayılım oranı, ortalama gaz sıcaklığı, basınç artış oranı, yanma başlangıcı, tutuşma gecikme süresi, yanmış kütle oranı, yanma safhaları ve çevrimler arası fark) hesaplanmıştır. Motorun çıkış miline bağlı hidrokinetik dinamometre yardımıyla efektif motor parametreleri (efektif güç, tork ve özgül yakıt tüketimi) ölçülmüştür. Bununla birlikte, deneyler sırasında motorun egzoz yolu üzerine yerleştirilen egzoz emisyon ve is emisyon ölçüm cihazları kullanılarak HC, CO, NOx ve is emisyonlarının yanında egzoz O2 konsantrasyonu ve λ değerlerinin değişimleri gözlemlenmiştir. Deneysel çalışmalar sonucu elde edilen bulgulardan, 1400-1800 d/d motor devir aralığında %10 tork değişim oranına kadarki port etanol enjeksiyonun silindir içi yanma şartları üzerinde olumlu etkiye sahip olduğu, daha fazla artırılan port etanol enjeksiyonunun ise yanma safhasında faz farkına neden olarak yanma şartlarında olumsuz etkiye neden olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bununla birlikte, emme dolgu sıcaklığının 30 °C'dan 60 °C'a kadar arttırılması ile 1400-1600 d/d aralığındaki motor hızlarında çevrimler arası fark azalmakta iken, 1800 d/d'da belirli bir ön ısıtma sıcaklığından sonra çevrimler arası fark artmaktadır. Tüm motor devirleri ve 30 °C emme dolgu sıcaklığında, port etanol enjeksiyon miktarının artışı ile HC ve CO emisyonları artmıştır. Bununla birlikte, port etanol enjeksiyon miktarı ile birlikte emme dolgu sıcaklığının artırılmasıyla HC ve CO emisyonları azalma eğilimi göstermiştir. Ancak emme havası sıcaklığının artışı NOx emisyonlarını artırırken, is emisyonunu azaltmıştır. Bunun yanı sıra, emme havası sıcaklığının 30 °C olarak belirlenen deney şartlarında tork değişim oranının artışı ile NOx-is zıt oluşum karakteristiğinin ortadan kalktığı ve anılan emisyonlarda eş zamanlı bir iyileşme olduğu görülmüştür. Çalışılan tüm motor devirleri için, %15 EGR uygulaması ile tork değişim oranının %20'ye kadar artırılabildiği ve bu şartlar altında silindir içi yanma gelişiminin olumlu etkilendiği görülmüştür. %15 EGR uygulamasının NOx, HC ve is emisyonlarının oluşumu açısından değerlendirildiğinde, emme dolgu sıcaklığının artışından daha fazla etkili olduğu, CO emisyonun oluşumu açısından değerlendirildiğinde ise olumsuz bir etkiye sahip olduğu görülmüştür. In this study, in-cylinder combustion, engine performance and exhaust emissions change of air-cooled direct injection diesel engine in dual fuel mode with port ethanol during the operation of a single-cylinder injection were examined. Diesel fuel was injected directly into the cylinder at high pressure, while ethanol fuel was injected just behind the intake valve at low pressure. Experimental studies were carried out in two stages. In the first stage of the experimental studies, the engine speed range and engine load, where the combustion analysis will be performed, were determined. In the second stage, the test engine was operated under the conditions of the detected engine speed range (1400-1800 rpm) and engine load (20 Nm) at the intake air temperature varying in the 30-60 °C range, 15% exhaust gas re-circulation (EGR) ratio and 0-40% torque change rates. In experimental studies performed under different engine operating conditions, data on changes in cylinder pressure due to crank angle were collected during 50 consecutive cycles of the engine. The cylinder pressure data obtained using the indicated engine parameters (indicated mean effective pressure, engine power, torque and specific fuel consumption) and the in-cylinder combustion parameters (heat release rate, the average gas temperature, pressure rise rate, the start of combustion, ignition delay, mass fraction burned, combustion phasing and the coefficient of variation in indicated mean effective pressure) was calculated. Effective engine parameters (effective power, torque and specific fuel consumption) were measured with the help of a hydrokinetic dynamometer connected to the output shaft of the engine. Furthermore, changes in exhaust O2 concentration and λ values were observed in addition to HC, CO, NOx and soot emissions using exhaust emission and are emission measuring devices placed on the exhaust tile of the engine during the experiments. Experimental results from 1400-1800 rpm engine speed in the range of 10% ethanol combustion in the cylinder of the port until the rate of change of torque have a positive effect on the injection conditions, the injection port of the combustion phase increased as more ethanol combustion has been found to cause adverse effects under conditions cause a difference. With all engine speed and an increase in the amount of port ethanol injection at the intake air temperature of 30 °C, HC and CO emissions increased. Furthermore, with the increase in port ethanol injection amount, HC and CO emissions decreased with the increase of suction filler temperature. With increasing intake air temperature, NOx emissions increased while soot emission decreased. However, HC and CO emissions tended to decrease by increasing the intake air temperature along with the amount of port ethanol injection. However, the increase of the intake air temperature increased NOx emissions and decreased the soot emission. In addition, it was observed that the NOx-soot trade-off formation characteristic was eliminated with the increase of the torque change rate in the experiment conditions determined as 30 °C of the intake air temperature and there was a simultaneous improvement in the aforementioned emissions. For all engine speeds studied, the torque change rate can be increased by up to 20% with 15% EGR application. Under these conditions the development of in-cylinder combustion is positively affected. Finally, 15% EGR application was evaluated for the formation of NOx, HC and soot emissions and it was found to be more effective than the increase of intake air temperature and to have a negative effect when evaluated for the formation of CO emission.
