Bu tez çalışmasında, birçok uygulama alanlarında kullanılan klasik soğutma kanallı kalıp çekirdeği yerine Direkt Metal Lazer Sinterleme (DMLS) yöntemiyle üretilen özgün soğutma kanallı kalıp çekirdeğinin termal davranışları incelenmiştir. Bu kapsamda klasik soğutma kanallı kalıp çekirdeği ile özgün soğutma kanallı kalıp çekirdeğinin 3D-CAD tasarımları yapılmıştır. Elde edilen tasarımların termal davranışları Ansys-Fluent programı kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Analizler sonucunda yolluk ve soğutma kanalları geometrik açıdan optimize edilmiştir. Elde edilen özgün soğutma kanallı kalıp çekirdeğinin DMLS yöntemiyle imalatı gerçekleştirilmiştir. Termal performanslarının karşılaştırılması amacıyla, imalatı gerçekleştirilen klasik ve özgün soğutma kanallı kalıp çekirdeklerinin termal davranışları deneysel olarak da incelenmiştir. Hazırlanan deney düzeneği üzerinde, erimiş metalin (Al6061 aluminyum alaşımı) kalıba dökülmesinden itibaren kalıp iç yüzeyinden 0-5 s zaman aralığında ve 0.5 s zaman adımlarıyla alınan verilerle kalıp çekirdeklerindeki sıcaklık dağılımı, soğutma performansı, kalıpların ön ısıtma süreleri, soğutma hızı ve meydana gelen basınç kayıpları karşılaştırmalı olarak irdelenmiştir. Kalıp çekirdeklerinin ergiyik tarafındaki sıcaklık değerleri baz alındığında ise; 5. s sonunda klasik soğutma kanallı kalıp çekirdeğindeki ısı transferi 159076 W olurken, özgün soğutma kanallı kalıp çekirdeğinde bu değer 234964 W olarak gerçekleşmiştir. Bu sonuçlara göre, özgün soğutma kanallı kalıp çekirdeği ile erimiş metalden çekilen ısı transfer hızının, klasik soğutma kanallı kalıp çekirdeğinden yaklaşık % 48 daha fazla olduğu gözlemlenmiştir. Kalıp çekirdeğinde soğutma akışkanı olarak ısı transfer yağı kullanılmıştır. Soğutma yağının klasik soğutma kanallı kalıp çekirdeği giriş ve çıkış noktalarındaki sıcaklıklar sırasıyla 543.85, 549.54 K olarak ölçülürken, özgün soğutma kanallı kalıp çekirdeğinde bu değerler sırasıyla 543.01, 561.95 K olarak ölçülmüştür. Soğutma yağının kalıp çekirdeğine giriş ve çıkış noktalarındaki sıcaklık verileri dikkate alındığında; klasik soğutma kanallı kalıp çekirdeğinde, erimiş metalin kalıba dökülmesinden itibaren 5. s sonunda gerçekleşen ısı transferi ortalama 1016.24 W olurken, özgün soğutma kanallı kalıp çekirdeğinde bu değer ortalama 3565.22 W olarak gerçekleşmiştir. Elde edilen sonuçların karşılaştırılmasından, özgün soğutma kanallı kalıp çekirdeğinin soğutma performansının daha iyi olduğu gözlemlenmiştir. Bunun yanısıra, döküm şartlarının oluşturulması amacıyla dökümden önce kalıplar ön ısıtmaya tabi tutulmuştur. Klasik soğutma kanallı kalıp çekirdeğinde 1769 s kalıp ön ısıtma süresine gerek duyulurken, özgün soğutma kanallı kalıp çekirdeğinde bu süre 1429 s olarak hesaplanmıştır. Bu sonuçlara göre, klasik soğutma kanallı kalıp çekirdeğinin, özgün soğutma kanallı kalıp çekirdeğine oranla % 21 daha fazla ısıtma süresine ihtiyaç duyduğu gözlemlenmiştir. In this thesis study, the thermal behavior of the original cooling channel mold core produced by Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS) method was investigated instead of the classical cooling channel mold core used in many application areas. In this context, 3D-CAD designs of the classical cooling mold core and the original cooling channel mold core have been made. Thermal behaviors of the designs obtained were analyzed using the Ansys-Fluent program. As a result of the analysis, the runner sections and cooling channels are optimized geometrically. The mold core of the original cooling channel has been manufactured via the DMLS method. In order to compare the thermal performances, the thermal behavior of the classic and original cooling channel mold cores that were manufactured were also investigated experimentally. Temperature distribution in mold cores, cooling performance, preheating times of molds, cooling rate, with the data taken from the inner surface of the mold in the 0-5 s time interval and 0.5 s time steps after pouring the molten metal (Al6061 aluminum alloy) on the prepared test apparatus and the resulting pressure losses are examined comparatively. Based on the temperature values on the melt side of the mold cores; at the end of the 5th s, while the heat transfer in the mold core with classical cooling channel was 159076 W, this value was 234964 W in the mold core with original cooling channel. According to these results, it was observed that approximately 48 % more heat transfer can be drawn from the molten metal with the original cooling channel mold core than with the classical cooling channel mold core. Heat transfer oil is used as cooling fluid in the mold core.The cooling oil's temperatures at the inlet and outlet points of mold core in classical cooling channel were measured 543.85, 549.54 K respectively. The temperatures at the inlet and outlet points of the mold core in the original cooling channel are 543.01, 561.95 K, respectively. According to the cooling oil temperature datas at the inlet and outlet points of the mold core; in the classical cooling channel mold core, after the molten metal has been poured into the mold, an average of 1016.24 W heat transfer has occurred at the end of the 5th s, whereas the original cooling channel mold core has an average of 3565.22 W heat transfer. Comparing the obtained results, it was observed that the cooling performance of the mold core with original cooling channel was better. In addition, the molds were preheated before mold in order to create the mold conditions. Additionally, pre-heating time of 1769 s in classical cooling channel mold core, while in the original cooling channel mold core was calculated as 1429 s. According to these results, it has been observed that the classical cooling channel mold core needs 21 % longer heating time than the original cooling channel mold core.
