Son yıllarda internet kullanımının artmasıyla insanların bilgi ve haber alma kaynakları da değişmiştir. Radyo, televizyon, gazete ve dergi gibi geleneksel medya araçları yerine sosyal medya araçlarının kullanımı giderek artmaktadır. Geleneksel medyada haberler belirli bir kaynak tarafından gönderilirken, sosyal medyada her kullanıcı bir haber kaynağı olabilmektedir. Bu durum habere erişimi oldukça hızlandırmakta fakat sosyal medyadaki haberlerin bir süzgeçten geçirilmeden paylaşılması, sahte haberlerin büyük bir hızla yayılmasına neden olmaktadır. Çoğu sosyal medya platformunda, sahte haber tespiti uzmanlar tarafından yapılmaktadır. Yoğun paylaşım trafiği bulunan sosyal medya platformlarında, bu çalışma mantığı ile kısa sürede sahte haber tespiti mümkün olamamaktadır. Bu da sahte haberin kısa sürede çok kişi tarafından paylaşılmasına sebep olmaktadır. Bu nedenle, yarı otomatik ve otomatik sahte haber tespiti sistemleri, uzmanların görev yaptığı sistemlere göre daha kısa sürede sahte haber tespitini sağlayabilmektedir. Sahte haberleri kısa sürede tespit edebilmek için otomatik tespit sistemlerinin geliştirilmesi gerekmektedir. Bu tez çalışmasında, denetimli öğrenme ve denetimsiz öğrenme kullanılarak, Twitter sosyal ağında sahte haber tespiti yapılmış ve sonuçları incelenmiştir. Ayrıca kullanıcıların takipçi etkileşimleri, sosyal ağ analizi yöntemleriyle incelenmiştir. Denetimli öğrenme algoritmalarında 0.86 ve Derin öğrenme algoritmalarında 0.80 F1-metrik değeriyle başarılı sonuçlar alınmıştır. Denetimsiz öğrenme algoritmalarının F1-metrik değeri ise 0.72'de kalmıştır.
In recent years, with the increase of internet usage, people's sources of information and information have also changed. Instead of traditional media such as radio, television, newspapers and magazines, the use of social media tools is increasing. In traditional media, news is sent by a certain source, whereas in social media, each user can be a news source. This situation accelerates access to the news, but sharing the news on social media without a filter causes fake news to spread rapidly. On most social media platforms, fake news detection is done by experts. In social media platforms with intensive sharing traffic, it is not possible to detect fake news in a short time with such expert systems. This causes fake news to be shared by many people in a short time. Therefore, semi-automatic and automatic fake news detection systems can detect fake news in a shorter time than expert systems. Automatic detection systems should be developed in order to detect fake news in a short time. In this thesis, fake news was detected in Twitter social network by using supervised learning, unsupervised learning and deep learning algorithms and the results were examined. In addition, the interactions of users with their followers were analyzed using social network analysis methods. Successful results were obtained with 0.86 F1-score in supervised learning algorithms and 0.80 F1-score in deep learning algorithms. The F1-score of unsupervised learning algorithms remained at 0.72.
