Bu çalışmada, iki farklı polimer reçine türü (polyester ve vinilester) ve yedi farklı agreganın (CEN kumu, pomza, perlit, diatomit, barit, hematit, kolemanit) kullanılmasıyla üretilen polimer betonların reolojik, fiziksel, mekanik ve radyasyon zırhlama (teorik ve deneysel) performansları incelenmiştir. Ayrıca; reolojik özellikleri ile mekanik ve radyasyon zırhlama performansı arasındaki ilişkiler de araştırılmıştır. Reolojik analizlere göre, agreganın hacimsel olarak %50'den fazla kullanımında, özellikle de hafif agregalarda viskozite katsayısı çok yükselmiş, kayma eşiği değerleri ise karıştırıcı ucun sıyrılması nedeniyle deneysel olarak elde edilememiştir. Bu nedenle fiziksel, mekanik ve radyasyon zırhlama performansları için agreganın hacimsel olarak kullanım oranı %45 üst sınır olarak belirlenmiştir. Belirlenen karışım oranlarında üretilen polimer betonların yoğunlukları, reaksiyon sıcaklıkları, ultrasonik ses geçiş hızları, Schmidt yüzey sertlikleri ve yüzey aşınmaları gibi fiziksel özellikleri araştırılmıştır. Üretilen tüm polimer betonların mekanik özellikleri için eğilme, basınç ve çekme deneyleri yapılarak polimer betonların mukavemetleri ve elastisite modülleri belirlenmiştir. Mekanik özelliklerin kullanılan reçine, agrega tipine ve agrega kullanım oranına göre değiştiği belirlenmiştir. Mekanik özellikler hafif agregalarda genellikle agrega kullanım oranı ile azalırken, diğer agregalarda agrega kullanım oranının düşük seviyelerinde genellikle artmış, işlenebilirlik açısından da sorun oluşturan (reolojik parametrelerin elde edilemediği) artan kullanım oranlarında ise azalmıştır. Reolojik parametrelerden plastik viskozite ile mekanik özellikler (eğilme – basınç – çekme mukavemetleri) arasında her iki reçine tipinde de diatomit ve pomza için daha düşük belirleyicilik katsayıları elde edilmişken (R2=0.393–0.626) diğer tüm agregalarda daha yüksek ilişkiler elde edilmiştir. Kayma eşiği değerlerinde ise reçine tipinin daha etkili olduğu polyesterli serilerde daha yüksek belirleyicilik katsayısı elde edilmiştir. Reolojik özelliklerle radyasyon zırhlama performansları arasındaki ilişki mekanik özelliklere benzer olmakla beraber daha yüksek belirleyicilik katsayıları elde edilmiştir. Buna göre hafif agregalarda düşük ilişki elde edilmişken, ağır agregalarda ise daha yüksek belirleyicilik katsayıları (R2=0.878–0.997) elde edilmiştir. Bu sonuçlara göre polimer betonlarda reolojik parametrelerle mekanik ve radyasyon zırhlama performansları arasında ilişki olduğu, hafif agregaların işlenebilirlik açısından da uygun olmayan artan kullanım oranlarında (%30 ve %45) karıştırıcı ucun polimer beton içinde sıyrılarak kendi dönüş ekseninde blok dönmesi nedeniyle düşük ilişkiler elde edilmiştir. Yapılan tüm deneysel çalışmalar ve analizlere göre polimer betonların özelliklerinin reçine tipi, agrega tipi ve oranına bağlı olarak değişmekle beraber reolojik parametrelerle mekanik özellikler ve radyasyon zırhlama performansı arasında yüksek ilişki bulunduğu sonucuna varılmıştır. In this study, rheological, physical, mechanical and radiation shielding (theoretical and experimental) performances of polymer concretes produced by using two different polymer resin types (polyester and vinylester) and seven different aggregates (CEN sand, pumice, perlite, diatomite, barite, hematite, colemanite) were examined. In addition, the relations between the rheological properties with mechanical and radiation shielding performance were also investigated. According to the rheological analysis, when the aggregate is used more than 50% by volume, especially in lightweight aggregates, the viscosity coefficient has increased very high, and the shear threshold values could not be obtained experimentally due to the stripping of the spindle. For this reason, the volume usage rate of aggregate for physical, mechanical and radiation shielding performances is determined as 45% upper limit. The physical properties of polymer concretes produced in the specified mixing ratios, such as densities, reaction temperatures, ultrasonic sound transmission velocities, Schmidt surface hardness and surface abrasion, have been investigated. For the mechanical properties of all polymer concretes produced, bending, compression and tensile tests were performed, and the strength and elasticity modules of polymer concretes were determined. It has been determined that the mechanical properties vary according to the resin, aggregate type and aggregate usage rate. While the mechanical properties generally decreased with the aggregate usage rate in lightweight aggregates, in other aggregates the rate of aggregate usage was generally increased at low levels. However, it has decreased in increasing usage rates, which are also a problem (rheological parameters cannot be obtained) in terms of workability. Between plastic viscosity, which is a rheological parameter, and mechanical properties (bending – compression – tensile strengths), lower determination coefficients (R2=0.393–0.626) were obtained for diatomite and pumice in both resin types, while higher relations were obtained for all other aggregates. A higher determination coefficient was obtained in polyester series, where the resin type is more effective in the shear threshold values. Even though the relationship between rheological properties and radiation shielding performances is similar to mechanical properties, higher determination coefficients have been obtained. Accordingly, while low relationship was obtained in lightweight aggregates, higher determination coefficients (R2=0.878–0.997) were obtained in heavyweight aggregates. According to these results, a relationship was found between the rheological parameters of polymer concrete and their mechanical and radiation shielding performances. Low relationships were achieved due to the stripping of the spindle in the concrete with the increasing use rates (30% and 45%) of lightweight aggregates that were not suitable for workability. According to all experimental studies and analysis, it has been observed that the properties of polymer concrete change depending on the resin type, aggregate type and ratio. In addition, it was concluded that there is a high relationship between rheological parameters with mechanical properties and radiation shielding performance.
