Çocuğun, içinde bulunduğu topluma özgü tutum, davranış ve beceri kazanmasına, kendisini toplumun bir üyesi olarak görmesine ve toplumsal yaşama uyum sağlamasına sosyalleşme denir. Çocuğun sosyalleşmesini etkileyen en önemli sosyalleşme araçlarından biri ailesidir. Çocuğun sosyalleşmesinde ebeveynlerin rolünü ortaya koymayı amaçlayan bu araştırma, üç bölümden oluşmuştur. Birinci bölümde, sosyalleşme ve ailenin çocuğun sosyalleşmesindeki rolüne ilişkin kavramsal çerçeve yer almaktadır. Araştırma metodunun yer aldığı ikinci bölümde, araştırmanın konusu, amacı, önemi, temel ve alt problemleri, sınırlılıkları, temel ve alt hipotezleri, yöntemi, evren ve örneklemi, anket formunun hazırlanması, genel özellikleri ve uygulanması, araştırma verilerinin toplanması ve analizi konuları yer almaktadır. Araştırmanın üçüncü bölümünde, araştırma bulgularının değerlendirilmesi yer almaktadır. Araştırma, 2018-2019 eğitim-öğretim yılında Mersin'in Tarsus ilçesindeki dokuz devlet ilkokulunda öğrenim gören öğrencilerin ebeveynlerinin görüşlerine başvurularak gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu araştırmada çocuğun sosyalleşmesinde ebeveynlerin rolü; sosyal gelişim sürecinde sosyal beceri kazanımı, topluma uyum, sosyal statü ve rollerin kazanımı, ebeveyn-çocuk ilişkisi ve çocuğun yetiştirilmesinden hareketle incelenmiştir. Araştırmanın sonucunda, ebeveynlerin çocuklarını yetiştirdikleri değerlerin, çocuklarından beklentilerinin, çocuğun yetiştirilme tarzının ve anne-baba çocuk ilişkisinin, çocuğun sosyalleşmesinde etkili unsurlar olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Socialization is called when the child gains attitudes, behaviours and skills that are specific to the society in which she or he recides, sees herself or himself as a part of society and adapts to social life. Family is one of the most important agents of socialization affecting the child. This research, which aims to reveal the role of parents in the child's socialization, consists of three parts. The first part contains a conceptial framework for socialization, and the role of the family in the child's socialization the second part which contains the research methods covers the research subject, purpose, importance; basic and sub-problems, limitations methods of base and methods of sub-hypotheses, population and sample, preparation of questionare, general properties and application and the collection of research data and analysis. The third part is the evaluation of research findings. The research was conducted in the 2018-2019 academic year by applying the views of the parents of the students studying in nine state primary schools in Tarsus (in Mersin) distric of Turkey. In this research, the role of parenst in child socialization; social skill acquisition in social development process, adaptation to society, social status and roles acquisition, parent-child relationship and child's upbringing are examined. As a result of research, it was determined that the values that parents raise their children, their expactation from their children, the style of the child's upbringing and the relationship between parents and children are early (effective) factors in the socialization of the child.
