Bu tez çalışmasının temel amacı üniversite öğrencilerinin sosyal medya kullanım düzeyleri, amaçları, paylaşım konu ve türleri ile görünür olma ve beğenilme düzeyleri arasındaki ilişkileri ortaya çıkarmaktır. Ayrıca öğrencilerin sosyal medya kullanım, görünür olma ve beğenilme davranışlarının demografik özellikler açısından da incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırma nicel araştırma yöntemlerden ilişkisel tarama modeli ile desenlenmiştir. Veriler ilgili alanyazından elde edilmiş ölçeklerin ve kişisel bilgi formunun yer aldığı ve çevrim içi olarak uygulanmış olan anket yoluyla elde edilmiştir. Çalışmanın örneklemi anket çalışmasına gönüllü olarak katılmış 193 üniversite öğrencisinden oluşmuştur. Katılımcıların beğenilme arzularının düşük, görünür olma isteklerinin orta düzeyde olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Katılımcıların görünür olma ve beğenilme düzeyleri ile sosyal medya ağlarını kullanım amaçları, paylaşım türü (fotoğraf, video, hikaye vb.), paylaşım içeriği (gezi, aile, arkadaş, okul vb.), takipçi sayısı ve paylaşım sıklığı arasında ilişkiler tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca görünür olma ve beğenilme düzeylerinin yaş, cinsiyet, medeni hal, öğrenim alanı ve sınıf gibi demografik özelliklere göre değişmediği ancak görünür olma düzeyinin aylık harçlık durumuna göre anlamlı farklılık gösterdiği bulunmuştur. The main purpose of this thesis study is to find out the relationships between university students' social media usage levels, purposes, content and types of sharing, and levels of visibility and to be liked. In addition, it is aimed to examine the students' social media usage, visibility and to be liked behaviours in terms of demographic characteristics. The research was designed with the relational survey model, one of the quantitative research methods. The data were obtained through an online questionnaire, which included the scales obtained from the relevant literature and the personal information form. The sample of the study consists of 193 university students who voluntarily participated in the survey. It was determined that the participants' desire to be liked was low and their desire to be visible was moderate. The relationships among the variables, the level of visibility and to be liked of the participants, the purposes of using social media networks, the type of sharing (photo, video, story, etc.), the content of sharing (trip, family, friend, school, etc.), the number of followers and the frequency of sharing, were determined. In addition, it was found that the level of visibility and to be liked do not change according to demographic characteristics such as age, gender, marital status, education area and class, but the level of visibility differed significantly according to monthly pocket money.
