Bu tez çalışmasında İstanbul depremi öncesinde Marmara Bölgesindeki kabuk hız yapısı görüntülenmiş ve deprem risk taşıyan fay segmentlerinin sismisite düzeyleri belirlenmiştir. Bunun için Marmara Bölgesi'nde P ve S dalgası varış zamanları ters çözümüne dayanan Poisson tomografisi yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Zhao vd. (1992) tarafından geliştirilen bu yöntem ile inceleme alanında kabuk ve üst mantodaki P ve S dalgası hız değişimi ile Poisson oranı değişimi, üç boyutlu olarak ortaya konulmuştur. Tomografik yöntem ile cisim dalgalarının varış zamanlarının kabuk ve üst manto hız modeline göre ters çözüm analizi yapılmıştır. Çalışmada bölgede 2007-2019 yılları arasında oluşmuş 28859 adet depremin P ve S dalgası varış zamanları inceleme alanında üç boyutlu (3-B) gridleme yapılarak kullanılmıştır. Marmara bölgesindeki Moho derinliği değişiminin 28 – 32 km arasında olduğu görülmüştür. Tekirdağ ve Kumburgaz segmentlerinin arasında 15 km derinlikten başlayan düşük hız havzası belirlenmiştir.Bu sonuçlara göre KAFZ Kuzey kol üzerinde Adalar ve Ganos segmentlerinde ve KAFZ Orta kol üzerinde İznik-Mekece segmentide gerilmenin çok fazla olduğu görülmektedir. In this thesis, the crustal velocity structure in the Marmara Region was imaged before the Istanbul earthquake and the seismicity levels of the fault segments carrying earthquake risk were determined. In the Marmara Region, the Poisson tomography method based on the inverse solution of P and S wave arrival times, was used. With this method developed by Zhao et al. (1992), the change in P and S wave velocity and the Poisson ratio of the crust and the upper mantle were revealed in three dimensions in the study area. This method, which is the one of tomographic method, the inverse solution analysis of the arrival times of the body waves, were made according to the crust and upper mantle velocity model. In the study, the P and S wave arrival times of 28859 earthquakes that occurred between 2007 and 2019 in the region were used by three-dimensional (3-D) gridding in the study area. It has been observed that the Moho depth variation in the Marmara region is between 28 and 32 km. Between Tekirdağ and Kumburgaz segments, a low velocity basin has been identified starting from a depth of 15 km. Seismic velocity and Poisson ratio of segments were determined.According to these results, it was determined that the stress was too high in the Adalar and Ganos segments on the NAFZ North branch and in the İznik-Mekece segment on the NAFZ Middle branch.
