Özel gereksinimli bireylerin etkili bir şekilde fen eğitimini alabilmesi için bireye özgü olarak hazırlanan bireyselleştirilmiş eğitim programına dâhil edilmeleri oldukça önemlidir. Bireyselleştirilmiş eğitim programına dâhil edilen her özel gereksinimli birey fiziksel, zihinsel ya da duygusal olarak birbirinden farklı olduğu için, fen öğretimi sürecinde yer alacak fen bilgisi öğretmenlerinin bireyselleştirilmiş eğitim programını hazırlama yeterliklerine sahip olması gerekmektedir. Bu yeterliklerin kazandırılması amacıyla fen bilgisi öğretmenliği bölümlerinde 'Özel Eğitim' dersi verilmektedir. Dolayısıyla özel eğitim dersi alan fen bilgisi öğretmen adaylarının bireyselleştirilmiş eğitim programı hazırlama yeterliklerine sahip olması beklenmektedir. Bu çalışmada fen bilgisi öğretmen adaylarının bireyselleştirilmiş eğitim programı hazırlama yeterliklerinin ortaya çıkarılması amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmada, fen bilgisi öğretmen adaylarının bireyselleştirilmiş eğitim programı hakkındaki mevcut bilgi düzeylerinin ve bireyselleştirilmiş eğitim programı hazırlama yeterlik durumlarının belirlenmesi amacıyla nitel araştırma yöntemi tercih edilmiştir. Çalışma grubu dördüncü sınıf düzeyinde öğrenim gören 31 fen bilgisi öğretmen adayından oluşmaktadır. Grup belirlenirken adayların 'Özel Eğitim dersini almış olmaları' ölçütünü taşımaları dikkate alınmıştır. Verilerin toplanması amacıyla yarı-yapılandırılmış görüşme tekniği tercih edilmiştir. Toplanan veriler betimsel analiz ve içerik analizi yöntemiyle analiz edilmiştir. Veri analizi aşamasında bazı kategoriler oluşturulurken özel eğitim hizmetleri yönetmeliğinde yer alan bilgilerden yararlanılmıştır. Çalışmanın sonuçları fen bilgisi öğretmen adaylarının bireyselleştirilmiş eğitim programı hakkında yeterince bilgi sahibi olmadıklarını ortaya koymaktadır. Ayrıca adayların örnek bireyselleştirilmiş eğitim programı'nı hazırlarken programın hazırlama aşamalarına yeterince dikkat etmedikleri sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Fen bilgisi öğretmen adaylarının çoğunluğu bireyselleştirilmiş eğitim programını özel gereksinimli bireyler için gerekli ve yararlı bir program olarak gördüklerini; bireyselleştirilmiş eğitim programını hazırlarken endişe duydukları durumların olduğunu; bireyselleştirilmiş eğitim programı hazırlamakta kendilerini yeterli görmediklerini belirtmişlerdir. Çalışmanın bütün sonuçları dikkate alındığında fen bilgisi öğretmenlerinin bireyselleştirilmiş eğitim programı hazırlama yeterliklerine yeterli düzeyde sahip olmadıkları saptanmıştır. It is very important that students with special needs are included in the Individualized Education Program, which is prepared individually in order to provide effective science education. Since each student in special need included in the Individualized Education Program is physically, mentally or emotionally different, science teachers who will take part in the science teaching process must have the competencies to prepare the Individualized Education Program. In order to gain these competencies, 'Special Education' course is given in the 4th grade of the science teaching department. Therefore, pre-service science teachers who take special education courses are expected to have the competencies to prepare an Individualized Education Program. In this study, it is aimed to determine the competencies to prepare an Individualized Education Program of pre-service science teachers. The study was carried out by the qualitative research method in order to determine the current level of knowledge about the Individualized Education Program of pre-service science teachers and their qualifications for preparing an Individualized Education Program. The working group consists of 31 pre-service science teachers studying at the 4th grade level. While determining the group, it was taken into account that the pre-service teachers were at the '4th grade level' and had taken the criteria of 'having taken special education course'. Semi-structured interview technique is preferred for the collection of data. The data collected were obtained by content and descriptive analysis method considering the opinions of pre-service teachers. While some categories were created during the data analysis phase, the information contained in the regulation of special education services was also used. The results of the study reveal that science pre-service teachers do not know enough about the Individualized Education Program. In addition, it was concluded that the pre service teachers did not pay enough attention to the preparation stages of the program while preparing the sample Individualized Training Program. The majority of pre service science teachers state that they see the Individualized Education Program as a necessary and useful program for students with special needs; that there are situations they are concerned about while preparing the Individualized Education Program; that they do not consider themselves sufficient in preparing an Individualized Training Program. When all the results of the study were taken into account, it has been determined that science teachers do not have competencies of preparing an Individualized Education Program at a sufficient level.
