Sosyal bir varlık olan insanın en önemli ihtiyaçlarından biri iletişimdir. İletişimde en çok zorlanın noktalar kendini anlamak, karşıdaki kişiye kendini anlatabilmek ve karşısındaki kişiyi anlayabilmektir. Kişinin kendini karşısındakinin yerine koyması olarak bilinen "empati" bu bağlamda kilit rol oynamaktadır. İlkokul öğrencilerinin empati gibi soyut bir kavramı öğrenirken yaparak yaşayarak öğrenme deneyimi sunan yaratıcı dramadan yararlanılmasının, empati kavramının öğrenimini kolaylaştıracağı ve kalıcı hale getireceği düşünülmektedir. Bu araştırmada amaç yaratıcı drama etkinliklerinin ilkokul 4. Sınıf öğrencilerinin empatik eğilim düzeylerine etkisini incelemektir. Araştırma 2021-2022 eğitim öğretim yılında, Isparta ili Merkez ilçesine bağlı bir ilkokulun 4. Sınıf düzeyinde öğrenim görmekte olan 43 öğrenci ile yürütülmüştür. Çalışma ön-test son-test kontrol gruplu yarı deneysel araştırma modelinde desenlenmiş ve 14 ders saati sürmüştür. Deney ve kontrol grubu uygun örnekleme yöntemi ile belirlenmiştir. Araştırmanın ön-test ve son-test verileri Ka-Si empatik eğilim ölçeği aracılığıyla toplanmıştır. Ön-test verilerinin toplanmasının ardından 4.sınıf ders öğretim programlarında bulunan empati ile ilgili kazanımlar belirlenmiştir. Bu kazanımlar, kontrol grubu öğrencilerinde öğretim programlarında belirlenen günlük ders planına uygun şekilde ders kitabı aracılığı ile işlenmiştir. Deney grubunda ise araştırmacı tarafından kazanımlarla ilgili olarak hazırlanan yaratıcı drama planlarına göre işlenmiştir. Çalışma sonunda her iki gruptan son-test verileri toplanmıştır. Toplanan veriler Spss programı ile analiz edilmiştir. Verilerin analizinde bağımlı örneklemler t testi ve bağımsız örneklemler t testi uygulanmıştır. Çalışma başlangıcında kontrol grubu öğrencilerinin bilişsel empatik eğilim ortalamalarının daha yüksek olduğu fakat deney ve kontrol grubu öğrencilerinin ön-test puanları arasında anlamlı farklılık olmadığı belirlenmiştir. Çalışma sonucunda deney grubu öğrencilerinin bilişsel ve duyuşsal empatik eğilim ortalamalarının yükseldiği, kontrol grubu öğrencilerinin empatik eğilim ortalamalarının düştüğü görülmüştür. Communication is one of the most important needs of human being as a social being. "Empathy" known as putting oneself in the other person's shoes, plays a key role in communication. It is thought that the use of creative drama, which provides primary school students with the experience of learning by doing while learning an abstract concept such as empathy, will facilitate the learning of the concept of empathy and make it permanent. The aim of this study is to examine the effects of creative drama activities on the empathic tendency levels of 4th grade students. The research was carried out with 43 students studying at the 4th grade of a primary school in Isparta in the 2021-2022 academic year. The study was designed in a quasi-experimental research model with pre-test post-test control group and lasted 14 lesson hours. Experimental and control groups were determined by convenient sampling method. The pre-test and post-test data of the study were collected through the Ka-Si empathic disposition scale. After the pre-test data were collected, the achievements related to empathy in the 4th grade curriculum were determined. These achievements were taught through the textbook in accordance with the daily lesson plan determined in the curriculum of the control group students. In the experimental group, it was processed according to the creative drama plans prepared by the researcher regarding the achievements. At the end of the study, post-test data were collected from both groups. The collected data were analyzed with Spss program. In the analysis of the data, t test was applied. At the beginning of the study, it was determined that the cognitive empathic tendency averages of the control group students were higher, but there was no significant difference between the pre-test scores of the experimental and control group students. As a result of the study, it was seen that the cognitive and affective empathic tendency averages of the experimental group students increased, and the empathic tendency averages of the control group students decreased. However, it was seen that these results were not sufficient to create a significant difference between the post-test scores.
