Bu araştırmanın amacı, toplumsal etkileşimin en hızlı ve en çok yaşandığı televizyonlarda, dizilerin temel değerlerimizi yansıtma gücü ile bu gücü doğru kullanma kabiliyetlerinin tespit edilmesidir. Betimsel tarama modelinin benimsendiği araştırmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden söylem ve içerik analizinden faydalanılmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemini, Isparta ilindeki Ortaokul (5-6-7-8) ve Liselerin (9-10-11-12) sınıflarında okuyan 108'i kadın ve 109'i erkek olmak üzere geçerliliği kabul edilen toplam 217 kişi oluşturmaktadır. Gençler arasında popüler olan dizileri tespit etmek için "En çok hangi tür dizileri izliyorsunuz?" sorusu sorulmuştur. Öğrencilerin cevaplarına göre türleri farklı diziler belirlenip tesadüfi örneklem yöntemiyle birer bölümleri incelenmiştir. Araştırmanın örneklemi, Diriliş Ertuğrul, Çukur, Sen Anlat Karadeniz ve Bizim Hikâye dir. Örneklem kabul edilen diziler, Ferdinand de Saussure'nin görsel gösterge çözümleme tekniği ile incelenip Shalom H. Schwartz'ın değer sınıflama modeline göre olumlu ve olumsuz biçimde sınıflandırılıp analiz edilmiştir. Kesitlerin söylem çözümlemesi de temel değerler çerçevesinde incelenerek Shalom H. Schwartz'ın değer sınıflama modeline göre olumlu ve olumsuz biçimde sınıflandırılıp analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmada elde edilen bulgular neticesinde, inceleme yaptığımız dizilerin görsel gösterge ve söylem analizlerinde en yüksek olumlu değer sınıflama gurubunun iyilikseverlik olduğu en yüksek olumsuz değer sınıflama gurubunun da güvenlik olduğu görülmüştür. Araştırmanın geneli itibariyle söylem ve içerik analizlerinden elde edilen bulgular neticesinde incelediğimiz televizyon dizilerinde olumsuz değer sınıflamalarının fazla olduğu ve en yüksek olumsuz değer sınıflama gurubunun da güvenlik olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Güvenlik gurubunu intikam, şiddet, tehdit, kamu güvenliğine zarar verme, yasa dışı topluluk oluşturma vs. olumsuz değerler oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmanın sonuçları itibariyle de önerilerde bulunulmuştur. The purpose of this research is to determine the effectiveness of televisions, where the social interaction is the fastest and most dense, in terms of TV series's competency in reflecting our core values and their competency in utilizing this faculty properly. In this research, descriptive survey model has been adopted, and discourse and content analysis of qualitative research has been utilized. The sample of the survey model is comprised of 217 validated people (108 females and 109 males) studying in high school and secondary schools in the town Isparta. "What kind of TV series do you watch the most?" has been asked to the participants to determine the most popular TV series among the youth. Popular series have been determined following the answers of the male and female students and their genres have been examined individually. The series in the sample of the research are as follows: "Diriliş Ertuğrul", "Çukur", "Sen Anlat Karadeniz", and "Bizim Hikâye. Series that have been accepted as samples have been examined with Ferdinand de Saussure's visual indicator technique and classified with Shalom H. Schwartz's value classification model. Discourse analysis of the sections has been examined within the frame of core values and classified with Shalom H. Schwartz's value classification model. In the results of the research, the highest positive value classification group in the examined visual indicators and discourse analyses has been found to be benevolence. The highest negative value classification group in the examined visual indicators and discourse analyses has been found to be security. The content of the values included by security is comprised of revenge, violence, intimidation, harming public safety, and forming illegal communities. Suggestions have been made in accordance with the findings of the research.
