Çalışmanın amacı Türkiye'de yaşayan geçici koruma kapsamındaki Suriyeliler bağlamında, sosyal baskınlık yönelimi, sosyal temas, gruplararası tehdit ile zenofobi arasındaki ilişkileri incelemektir. Bu amaçla, gruplar arasındaki ilişkileri açıklamaya yönelik bazı ölçekler kullanılarak bir araştırma modeli oluşturulmuştur. Araştırmanın evrenini İzmir'in Konak ilçesinde yaşayan Türkiye Cumhuriyeti vatandaşları oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmada alan araştırması yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Çalışma toplamda 367 kişi ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Veriler yüz yüze görüşülerek Türkçe geçerlilikleri olan ölçeklerden hazırlanmış anket ile elde edilmiştir. Araştırmada veriler Mart 2021 ile Haziran 2021 tarihleri arasında toplanmıştır. İzmir Konak ilçesinin seçilmesinde etkili olan başlıca faktör Suriyeli sığınmacıların yoğun olarak yaşadıkları Basmane gibi semtlerin ilçe sınırları içerisinde yer almasıdır. Çalışmanın birinci bölümünde, Türkiye'de göç konusundaki yasal ve idari düzenlemeler, göçmen, sığınmacı, mülteci kavramları, geçici koruma statüsü kavramları ele alınmıştır. İkinci bölümde teorik çerçeve ve bu bağlamda, zenofobi, sosyal baskınlık yönelimi, bütünleşik tehdit kuramı, sosyal temas teorileri incelenmiştir. Ardından dış gruba yönelik sosyal baskınlık yönelimi, gruplararası tehdit algısı, sosyal temas, zenofobi ilişkisine yönelik alanyazın incelenerek çalışma hipotezleri oluşturulmuştur. Devamında çalışma bulgularına yer verilerek, elde edilen bulgular sonuç bölümünde öncü çalışmalar ile ilişkilendirilerek tartışılmıştır. The aim of the study is to examine the relationships between social dominance orientation, social contact, intergroup threat and xenophobia in the context of Syrians under temporary protection living in Turkey. For this purpose, a research model was created by using some scales to explain the relationships between the groups. The population of the research consists of the citizens of the Republic of Turkey living in Konak district of Izmir. Field research method was used in the study. The study was carried out with a total of 367 people. The data were prepared from scales with Turkish validity by face-to-face interviews, and were obtained by questionnaire. Data in the study were collected between March 2021 and June 2021. The main factor affecting the selection of Izmir Konak district is the fact that districts such as Basmane, where Syrian refugees densely populated, are located within the boundaries of the district. In the first part of the study, legal and administrative regulations on immigration in Turkey, the concepts of immigrant, asylum seeker, refugee, temporary protection status are discussed. In the second part, the theoretical framework and in this context, xenophobia, social dominance orientation, integrated threat theory, and social contact theories are examined. Then, the hypotheses of study were formed by examining the literature on the relationship of social dominance towards the outgroup, threat perception between groups, social contact and xenophobia. Subsequently, the findings of the study were included, the findings are discussed in the conclusion section by relating them to the prior studies.
