Yerel tarih araştırmaları son zamanlarda ülkemizde popüler olmuştur. Yerel tarih araştırmalarını Batı'da 15. Yüzyıllara kadar götürmek mümkündür. Osmanlı devletinde ise 1870'li yıllarda ilk örnekleri verilmiştir. Yerel tarih, etnik köken, din vs. konularında bireye kimliklendirme ve aidiyet duygusu kazandırmaktadır. Yerel tarih birey için "biz" duygusunun kaynağını oluşturmaktadır. Yerel tarih kaynakları denilince akla ilk gelen sözlü tarihtir. Yerel tarih araştırmalarında önemli arşiv kaynağı olmasına rağmen genellikle belediye meclisi karar defterleri arşivi göz ardı edilmektedir. Bu çalışmada yerel tarih araştırmalarında belediye meclis karar defterlerinin arşiv kaynağı olarak kullanılması amacıyla, Akhisar Belediyesi meclis kararları üzerinden 2. Dünya Savaşı dönemi incelenmiştir. Milli Mücadele sonrası yeni kurulan Türkiye Cumhuriyeti devletinin birçok alanda kalkınma hamlelerine giriştiği bir dönemde II. Dünya savaşı patlak vermiştir. Türkiye, 2. Dünya Savaşına girmemiş olsa da savaştan ciddi anlamda etkilenmiştir. Belediye meclis kararları üzerinden bu etkilenme durumunu net bir şekilde görmek mümkündür. Sosyal bilimlerin yöntemi, geçmişteki olayları inceleyerek anlamak ve açıklamaktır. Bu bağlamda çalışma III aşamadan oluşturulmuştur. Birinci aşamada önsöz kısmında belirtilen arşivler taranmıştır. Fakat çalışmanın ana kaynaklarını Akhisar Belediyesinde bulunan defter arşivleri oluşturmuştur. Bu deterler; meclis karar defterleri, encümen meclisi karar defterleri, ihale defterleridir. İkinci aşamada toplanan veriler tasniflenerek içindekiler kısmı oluşturulmuştur. Üçüncü aşamada toplanan bilgi/belgelerin okuma işlemi tamamlanmış ve gerekli görülen tablo ve grafikler ile desteklenerek yazım işlemi tamamlanmıştır. Local history studies have recently become popular in our country. It is possible to take local history research in the West to the 15th century. In the Ottoman state, the first examples of the example from 1870 were given. Local history, ethnicity, religion etc. subjects also give the individual a sense of identification and belonging. In this main local history research, the 2nd World War period has been examined through encrypted as the archive source of the decision books of the municipal council, through Akhisar Municipality council decisions. It is possible to see this situation clearly through the decisions of the municipal council. The method of social sciences is to understand and explain past events by examining them. In this context, the study consists of three phases. In the first stage, the archives mentioned in the preface were scanned. However, the main sources of study were the decision books archives in Akhisar Municipality. These deters; municipal council decision books, municipal board of council decision books and tender books. In the second stage, the collected data were classified and the table of contents was formed. In the third stage, the reading process of the collected information/documents was completed and the writing process was completed by supporting the necessary tables and graphics.
