Araştırmanın amacı, Göbekli Tepe örneğinde kutsal mekânın yeniden üretim sürecini incelemektir. Göbekli Tepe arkeolojik özellikleri, tarihi, mimarisi vb. bir çok yönü ile araştırma konusu olarak ele alınmış ve incelenmiştir. Bu durum Göbekli Tepenin popüler bir mekân haline gelmesine sebebiyet vermiştir. Bu noktadan bakıldığında Göbekli Tepe keşfedildikten sonra mekânsal bir değişim sürecinin içerisinde şekillendirilmiş ve mekânsal olarak sürekli değişen bir dinamizmin içerisinde konumlandırılmıştır. Bu konumlanış daha önce Göbekli Tepe mekânını kutsal kabul edip orayı ibadet için kullanan ve keşif sürecine kadar da yaşatan yöre halkının mekânı kullanım konusunda keşif sonrası sınırlandırmalara neden olmuştur. Yöre halkı Göbekli Tepe'nin popüler bir mekân olmasından kaynaklı olarak daha önce kullandıkları mekânı artık kullanamayacak duruma gelmişler, keşif sürecine kadar nesilden nesile yaşatıp ürettikleri mekâna yabancılaştırılmışlardır. Keşifle birlikte yöre halkının mekândan uzaklaştırılması mekânın yeniden üretim sürecine girmesi coğrafi perspektiften araştırılmaya değerdir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda nitel bir çalışma yöntemi benimsenip, Göbekli Tepe çevresindeki yedi köyde (Örencik, Derman, Sarışeyh, Küçük İstanbul, Orta Ören, Seyrantepe, Göktepe) yaşayan yerel halk ile yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme tekniği kullanılarak görüşmeler yapılmıştır.Yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu, amaçlı örneklem yöntemiyle belirlenen 33 katılımcıya uygulanmıştır. Amaçlı örneklem yönteminde araştırmacı, katılımcıların Göbekli Tepe çevresindeki yerleşim alanında yaşayan ve Göbekli Tepe'nin yeniden üretim sürecine şahitlik etmiş katılımcılar olmasını kriter olarak belirlemiştir. Yapılan araştırma sonucunda, Göbekli Tepe isminin kuşaktan kuşağa devredildiği belirlenmiş olup kutsallık, ziyaret, ibadet yeri anlamına geldiği tespit edilmiştir. Mekânın kullanım amacının inanç ve şifa olduğu belirlenmiştir. Göbekli Tepe'de kutsal mekân anlayışına uygun olarak "Kabir, Dilek Ağacı, Toprak, Sarnıç" sembollerinin kullanıldığı anlaşılmıştır. Göbekli Tepe'ye mekânın kutsallığını duyan ve şifa bekleyen herkesin ziyarete geldiği belirlenmiştir. Göbekli Tepe kült alanının keşfedilmesiyle birlikte mekân da birçok değişikliğin yapıldığı, değişikliklere bağlı olarak mekânın önceki sahiplerinin Göbekli Tepe'de dini ritüellerini gerçekleştirmelerinin engellenmiş olması, süreçteki en önemli değişiklik olarak belirlenmiştir. Göbekli Tepe'nin keşfinden sonra yapılan değişikliklerin bu çevrede yaşayan yerel halkın mekâna olan bağlılıklarını azalttığı, yabancılaştırdığı bunun neticesinde ise katılımcıların eski Göbekli mekânını kendilerine daha yakın hissettikleri sonucuna varılmıştır. Bütün bu anlatılanlara ek olarak Göbekli Tepe'de dini mekânın yeniden üretimi kadar mekânın farklı kitleleler tarafından (yerel halk, yerel yönetim, turistler) kullanılıyor olması sorunsalına karşı müşterek bir mekân anlayışı mümkün hale gelebilir mi? Göbekli Tepe bundan sonraki süreçte kimler tarafından nasıl bir mekân olarak üretilecek? soruları çalışması yapılan tezin iki önemli tartışma eksenini oluşturmuştur. The study's goal is to look at the sacred space's reproduction process using Göbekli Tepe as an example.The archaeological elements, history, and architecture of Göbekli Tepe are all fascinating. In various ways, it has been researched and explored as a research topic Because of this, Göbekli Tepe has become a popular place. From this point of view, after Göbekli Tepe was discovered, it was shaped in a process of spatial change and positioned within a constantly changing dynamism spatially. This positioning has caused many injuries to the local people, who had previously forgiven the sacredness of Göbekli Tepe and used it for worship and kept it alive until the discovery process. Due to the fact that Göbekli Tepe is a popular place, the local people have come to a point where they cannot use the place they used before, and they have been alienated from the place they have lived and produced from generation to generation until the discovery process. As a geographer who has personally heard the silent cries of dissatisfaction caused by the local people's attempt to be erased from the place with the discovery, it has been our primary duty to investigate the subject in depth and to bring a different flow angle to the existing studies in the literature. For this purpose, a qualitative study method was adopted and interviews were conducted with the local people living in seven settlements around Göbekli Tepe (Örencik, Derman, Sarıseyh, Küçük İstanbul, Orta Ören, Seyantepe, Göktepe) using semi-structured interview technique. It was applied to 33 participants determined by purposive sampling method. In the purposeful sampling method, the researcher determined that the participants should be participants living in the settlement area around Göbekli Tepe and witnessing the reproduction process of Göbekli Tepe as a criterion. As a result of the research, it has been determined that the name Göbekli Tepe has been handed down from generation to generation and it has been determined that it means sanctity, visitation, place of worship. It has been determined that the purpose of use of the place is faith and healing. It has been understood that the symbols of "Grave, Wish Tree, Soil, Cistern" were used in Göbekli Tepe in accordance with the understanding of sacred space. It has been determined that everyone who hears the sanctity of the place and hopes for healing comes to visit Göbekli Tepe. With the discovery of the Göbekli Tepe cult area, many changes were made in the place, and the previous owners of the place were prevented from performing their religious rituals on the hill, depending on the changes, was determined as the most important change in the process. It was concluded that the changes made after the discovery of Göbekli Tepe reduced the commitment of the local people living in this area to the place, alienated these people, and as a result, the participants felt the old Göbekli place closer to them. In addition to all this, can a common understanding of space become possible against the problem of the reproduction of the religious space in Göbekli Tepe, as well as the use of the space by different masses (Local people, Local government, Tourists)?
