Günümüzde kitle iletişim araçları çok çeşitlenip, yaygınlaşarak her kesim tarafından kolayca erişilebilir olmuştur. Hatta bu kitle iletişim araçları ile doğruluğuna bakılmadan kontrolsüz ve sınırsız bilgi paylaşımı yapılmaktadır. Popüler kültüründe kitle iletişim araçlarıyla olan bağı sayesinde, toplumun yönlendirilmesi çok kolay hale gelmiştir. Üreticisine bağlı olarak oluşturulan popüler kültür, tüketim mekanizmasının bir argümanı olarak tüketime hizmet etmektedir. Popüler kültür tüketim kültürü halinde, kitleleri yaşamsal gerçekliğinden alarak güdülenen sanal bir gerçeklik içinde toplumsal ifade aracı olmuştur. Tüketim çarkı içinde tüketime dayanan bir mutluluk kaynağına dönüşmüştür. Tüketim unsurlarına göre bireylerin statü ifade etmesinde önemli bir rol oynamaktadır. Tükettikleri popüler kültür ürünlerinin hazmını yapamadan yenilerinin tüketimi derdine düşen toplum, daha sahip olduğunun taksitlerini ödeyemeden yerine üst modellerini koymaya kendini zorunlu hisseder hale gelmiştir. Bunun paralelinde toplumda ekonomik bir buhran oluşmuştur. Günümüzde tüketim nesneleriyle birlikte sürekli kendini yenileyen popüler kültür sayesinde tüketim obezi bireyler ortaya çıkmıştır. Bu tüketim obezleri tükettikleri öğelerce adeta şişmanlamaktadır. Bundan yola çıkarak obez tüketim figürleri yorumlanmıştır. Popüler kültürü oluşturan tüketim imge, ikon ve nesnelerin görselleri ile içleri doldurularak şişmanlamış figürlerden uygulama çalışmaları yapılmıştır. Nowadays, mass media has become very diverse and easily accessible by every sector. In fact, these mass media and without the accuracy of the uncontrolled and unlimited information sharing is done. Thanks to its link with the mass media in popular culture, it has become very easy to direct society. The popular culture created by the producer serves as an argument for the consumption mechanism. In a culture of popular culture consumption, it has become a means of social expression in a virtual reality driven by the reality of the masses. The consumption wheel has become a source of happiness based on consumption. It plays an important role for individuals to express status according to their consumption Without consuming the popular culture products they consume, the society, which has to worry about the consumption of new ones, has become obliged to put the top models instead of paying the installments it has. Parallel to this, an economic crisis occurred in society. In this thesis, the effects of popular culture which has a direct effect on our life with the mass media and consumption and its reflections on the field of art have been studied. As a result of the research, the negative effects of popular culture on society has been the source of application studies. Nowadays, consumption of objects of consumption has emerged as a result of the popular culture that renews itself continuously. This consumption of obese people are almost fat. Obese consumption figures were interpreted. The images of the images, icons and objects that make up the popular culture are filled with images and application works have been made from the fattened figures.
