İşsizlik gerek Türkiye'de gerek Dünya'da gittikçe artan bir sorun haline gelmeye başlamıştır. Gençler ise işsizlikten en fazla etkilenen kesimlerden biri olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Son yıllarda çok sayıda devlet/vakıf üniversitelerinin açılması sonucu her yıl bu üniversitelerden binlerce öğrenci mezun olmaktadır. Ancak, bu gençlere yönelik yeterli istihdam alanları sağlanamadığı için günümüzde çok sayıda üniversite eğitimli işsiz bulunmaktadır.Bu çalışmanın amacı, Edirne Çalışma ve İş Kurumu İl Müdürlüğü'ne kayıtlı 25 yaş altı üniversite mezunu işsiz gençlerin ve Trakya Üniversitesi üniversite son sınıf öğrencilerinin, okuldan iş yaşamına geçişte karşılaştığı/karşılaşabileceği sorunları, iş bulma çabalarını ve istihdam beklentilerini, gençlerin aile ve çevreleriyle olan ilişkilerini karşılaştırmalı olarak değerlendirmektir. Unemployment started to become an ever-mounting problem both in Turkey and in the world.Young people are one of the most vulnerable groups to be affected by unemployment. Recently, many stateand foundation universities has been established;and thousands of students graduate from these universities every year. However, today’s world bears witness to a large number of unemployed university graduates, since sufficient employment opportunities can not be provided. Theaim of this study is to comparativelye valuate the problems that unemployed university graduate young people undertheage 25, who is registered toProvincial Directorate of TurkishLaborAgency in Edirne, and final year students in Trakya Universitydid/couldface in the process of transition from school to working life, their efforts to find a job, their employment expectations, their relationship with their families and social environments.
