Bir üretim sisteminde, kusurlu ürün üretilmesi durumu kaçınılmaz olmaktadır. Bu kusurlu ürünlerin belirli bir oranı yeniden işlenebilmektedir ve genellikle ekstra kazanç sağlamaktadır. Bu çalışmada, ilk olarak, yeniden işlenebilir kusurlu ürünlerin toplam kâr üzerindeki etkisini belirlemek amacıyla, yeniden işleme varsayımı mevcut olduğunda, kusurlu ürün ve stoksuzluk durumunu içeren bir ekonomik sipariş miktarı modeli önerilmektedir. Kusurlu ürünler, düşük kalite, ıskarta ve yeniden işlenebilir ürünlerden oluşmaktadır. Yeniden işleme süreci sonunda, ürünlerin belli bir oranının kusursuz hale geldiği, diğer kısmının ise ıskarta olarak ayrıldığı varsayılmaktadır. Özel olarak, yeniden işleme süreci sonunda, ürünlerin tamamının kusursuz hale getirildiği durum için de genel formüller elde edilmektedir. Daha sonra, geliştirilen ekonomik sipariş miktarı modeli bulanık ortamda (model parametrelerinin ve karar değişkenlerinin bulanık olması durumu) değerlendirilmektedir. Toplam kâr fonksiyonunun durulaştırılmış tahmini, fonksiyon prensibi ve derecelendirilmiş ortalama birleşim gösterimi yöntemleri kullanılarak elde edilmektedir. Optimal sonuçları veren eşitlikler, sırasıyla Karush-Kuhn-Tucker koşulları ve birinci türev kullanılarak belirlenmektedir. Örnek olay incelemeleri ile geliştirilen modeller için optimal çözüm sonuçları elde edilmektedir. Ayrıca, bulanık ekonomik sipariş miktarı modeli için olurluluk koşulları test edilmektedir. Model parametrelerinin optimal çözüm üzerindeki etkileri, duyarlılık analizleri ile incelenmektedir. Örnek olay incelemeleri sonucunda çok farklı gözlemlerin ortaya çıktığı görülmektedir. Geliştirilen ekonomik sipariş miktarı modeli ve elde edilen sonuçlar, sadece optimal sipariş miktarı ve maksimum stoksuzluk miktarının belirlenmesinde değil, aynı zamanda yeniden işleme varsayımı mevcut olduğunda, yeniden işlemenin, işletme politikalarını belirlemede karar verme aracı olarak doğrudan etkinliğini göstermektedir. Bulanık toplam kâr fonksiyonun aldığı değerler aralığının, üçgen bulanık sayılar ile tanımlanan modellerle karşılaştırıldığında, yamuk bulanık sayılar ile tanımlanan modeller için daha geniş olduğu görülmektedir. Bu sebeple, stok kontrol problemlerindeki belirsizlikleri çözmek amacıyla uygulanan, parametrelerin belirli bir aralıkta tanımlanmalarında, karar vericilere oldukça dikkatli olmaları önerilmektedir. Stok kontrol modellerinde, bulanıklık kavramını kullanmak ve modele dâhil etmek oldukça kârlı olduğu gibi, uygulama açısından da karar vermede, alternatif bir yaklaşım olduğu görülmektedir.

In a manufacturing system, it is unavoidable that defective items are produced. A portion of these defective items are reworkable and often lead to extra profits by reworking them. In this study, first, in order to determine their effects on the total profit, an economic order quantity model for lots containing defective items with existence of shortages when the rework option available is proposed. The defective items consist of imperfect quality, scrap and reworkable items. It is assumed that the rework can be done only to reworkable items to make good or scrap items. Specifically, general formulas are also investigated for the case in which all reworkable items are reworked fully as a perfect quality. After that, the economic order quantity model for lots containing defective items and shortages with the rework option are considered in the fuzzy environment, where the fuzziness is introduced to input parameters and decision variables. The function principle and the graded mean integration representation method have been used to find the defuzzified estimate of the total profit. In cases of fuzzy or crisp decision variables with fuzzy input parameters, the optimal policies are determined using the Karush-Kuhn-Tucker conditions or the first derivative, respectively. The feasibility conditions, by which the optimal policy exists, are also investigated. Numerical examples have been provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed models. Sensitivity analysis on some parameters in the proposed model is carried out. Interesting observations have been made through the numerical examples. The results have showed that the proposed economic order quantity model does not only provide the optimal order quantity and backorder quantity, but also serve itself as a decision making tool to determine whether the rework is profitable when rework option is available. It is observed that when the fuzzy inventory models are described with the trapezoidal fuzzy numbers, the ranges of fuzzy total profit are wider than those of total profit for the models, which is described with the triangular fuzzy numbers. It is advised that decision makers may be cautious to account for the flexibility in parameters, in order to tackle the uncertainty. It is concluded that it is more profitable to consider the fuzziness in the inventory model than the crisp inventory model and provide an alternative approach to the practitioners.
