Satın Alma Gücü Paritesi (SAGP), döviz piyasalarında“Tek Fiyat Kanunu”na dayanan ve ülkeler arasında fiyat düzeylerindekifarklılıkları ortadan kaldırarak farklı ülke para birimlerinin satın almagüçlerini birbirine eşitleyen değişim oranıdır. Bu doğrultuda çalışmanın amacı,güçlü formda testler kullanılarak yükselen piyasa ekonomileri arasında yer alanTürkiye için Türk Lirasından altı sıfır atılan Ocak 2005 tarihinden itibaren2005:01 – 2017:03 tarihlerini kapsayan dönemden itibaren SAGP’nin geçerli olupolmadığı sınanıp uzun dönemli analizi yapılarak literatüre katkı sağlamaktır.Çalışma kapsamında Türkiye’ye ait nominal döviz kuru ve yurtiçi tüketici fiyatendeksi ile Amerika Birleşik Devletleri’nin (ABD) tüketici fiyat endeksideğişkenleri kullanılmıştır. Çalışmada serilerin durağanlık analizindeGenişletilmiş Dickey-Fuller (ADF) birim kök testi, Zivot ve Andrews tek yapısalkırılmalı birim kök testi ve çoklu yapısal kırılmaları dikkate alan Kapetanios(2005) birim kök analizi gerçekleştirilmiştir. Daha sonra çoklu yapısalkırılmaları dikkate alan Maki (2012) eşbütünleşme testiyle Türkiye içinSAGP’nin güçlü forma sınanması gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışma sonucunda eldeedilen bulgulara göre; Türkiye’de nominal döviz kuru, yurtiçi tüketici fiyatendeksi ve ABD’nin tüketici fiyat endeksi arasında uzun dönemli bir ilişkitespit edilmiştir.
Purchasing Power Parity is based on “Law of One Price”in exchange market and it is the rate of change which equal to the purchasingpower of different country by removing the differences in price levels betweencountries. Accordingly, the aim of the study is to test whether the PurchasingPower Parity is valid for Turkey after the establishment of new Turkish Lira asof January 2005, which is one of the emerging market economies in the period of2005:01-2017:03 by means of strong form tests. In addition, it is aimed to makecontribute to the literature to be carried out a long-term test of thePurchasing Power Parity by strong form tecniques. Nominal exchange rate anddomestic consumer price index of Turkey and US consumer price index variablesare used within the scope of the study. Augmented Dickey-Fuller unit root test,Zivot and Andrews one breakpoint unit root test and Kapetanios (2005) unit roottest which considers multiple structural breaks in stationarity analysis of theseries has been carried out respectively in the study. After this analysis, thepurchasing power parity was tested for Turkey in strong form by Maki (2012)cointegration test which takes into account multiple structural breaks.According to findings obtained as a result of the study; a long-runrelationship has been determined between Turkey's nominal exchange rate, thedomestic consumer price index and the US consumer price index.
